Phelon Jones- He played ok, but I didn't get a sense that he's a long term answer for anything. I can see the upside to him, but I can see why LSU didn't worry about letting him go to Bama. Kirkpatrick and Scott are both younger and better than he is. He probably can play Star, but I don't see him as a starter.

I never saw him being great there anyway. He wasn't going to just become great at Bama. He was very average here and would still be struggling to get on the field at LSU.

Last I heard he played for Bama. I don't give a crap about Phelon or any other college football player who doesn't wear Purple & Gold.

Phelon will be playing the star in five and six DB alignments. Dre Kirkpatrick and B.J. Scott are clearly the starters.

Nobody ever thought Rick Clausen would haunt us either. I just don't like releasing players to teams that are going to be on your schedule.

No doubt. But there was a post about him on here a couple weeks ago with people whining because he claimed how much better he got in his short time at Bama.

Phelon was a garbage individual who thought he was gods gift to the earth...if thats the kind of people you want here, then god help us all!

Who's doing that, exactly?

This is actually the first mention I've heard of him in a while.

...Why would anyone one be pissing in their cherios over a player that was on the scout squad last fall without a scholarship?

I was a little miffed that he (and his father) took a few parting shots at Les after Les had been so good to him.
