Pound for pound, Richard Murphy.
190 lbs benches 420+

Pound for pound would have to be either Michael Ford or Ron Brooks IMO.

I know, I still can't get over that (9 reps). How could someone who looks so incredibly strong not be...
Then he only did 11 at Pro-day.

i've heard along with being fast, daniel graff is also VERY strong.

I know Barksdale was one of the strongest last year, so I imagine it would be him or Levingston (gym rat); however, it will be Brockers in a couple of years..heard that dude is freakishly strong
Pound for Pound I'd go with Ford, but overall might be Stampley..he's on the weight lifting team at LSU and evidently is pretty good..

I wouldn't think Alex Hurst is the "strongest."
I bet he is functionally strong (on the field), but when it comes to squating, deadlifting, benching, usually your short stocky guys are strong.
Shawn Jordan and Jarrod Carter come to mind.
Also know, that strength doesn't always mean starter. Just see the above-mentioned players.
There are cases where it works; just look at Tommy Banks. He was great at his position (fullback).
FYI, from Wikipedia...i didn't know about the satirical references;

quote:
Born in West Monroe, Louisiana, he starred at West Monroe High School before earning a scholarship to Louisiana State University where he played from 1997 to 2000. Banks cemented his place in LSU lore by scoring a touchdown in an upset win over the top ranked and defending national champion Florida Gators in 1997. On the play, he dove into the end zone with a defender draped on him, for a 7-yard touchdown that put LSU up 14-0.[1] The dive was immortalized in the October 20, 1997 issue of Sports Illustrated, which contained an article recapping the game. Banks ended his LSU career with a record tying two touchdown performance in LSU's 28-14 victory over Georgia Tech in the 2000 Peach Bowl To this day, satirical Tommy Banks references are routinely made in LSU post-game radio shows..[2]

tommy banks was also squatting 650 pounds in powerlifting competitions in high school his senior year too.
bench press for football in my opinion is overrated. a great squatter and deadlifter (the most technical lift) makes one a stud.
anyone can bench a real man does the other ones and enjoys it.
