This.
The article was written by someone who is supposed to be a national writer for Rivals, and he is clueless. Louisiana, like the states of Texas, Florida, California, Ohio, Florida, is one of the top producers of college talent in the nation. Pre-1970 the idiot who wrote the story would be correct about LSU over-achieving, but since integration the talent available in Louisiana is enough to keep LSU consistently among the nation's top teams. (I will admit that recruiting that talent to LSU, and coaching it once it gets here is a completely different animal.)

50 years without a title is pretty bad.... just sayin. We were never an elite program as we have been the last decade.

The landscape for SEC football completely changed once it integrated. Before 1970, you can spin LSU's football fortunes any way you want, but LSU has had access to nearly as much talent as any school in the country since then. If Florida, Florida State and Miami can shed their lack of a football pedigree and become national powers post-integration then LSU can, as well. You can even make an argument that, rather than overachieve this decade, LSU underachieved the previous two decades.

I would like to think we underachieved in the 80s and 90s. Couple decent teams in the late 80s and mid 90s but not top notch in general.

Michigan has had one title in how long?
I think the most retarded thing is the a hole from shreveport and his stupid arse question.
He should have just said, "You know we like to complain alot here in LA about our coach. Is there anything you can add to the fire? I always like to stir the pot!"

As long as we're keeping the top in-state talent we're not going anywhere.

i agree with pretty much everything he said except for the underachieve overachieve thing he answered that question earlier when he said we havent had a recruiting class worst that #11 since les arrived

Yeah, I do think we're probably underachieving (at least according to recruiting rankings) from 2008 til now. The quarterback situation has really hurt us. But still it hasn't been terrible, we're at least going to bowl games.
I am just saying we're not going to go back to the days of not making bowl games (90's) because we're going to keep the in-state talent. No more warrick dunn's running off to florida state or anywhere else.

What part did you find untrue?
It is true, if we don't back into that title game, Miles would be remembered that year for NOT getting us there by losing AT HOME to an underachieving Ark team.
