Call BCBS and see what they can do for an individual plan, but don't hold your breath waiting for a whole lot better, and to be considered you better be in excellent health, no preexisiting conditions, within the "normals" for weight and height, good blood pressure, etc. even with all of that they will prob offer you a high deductaible policy to get lower than 300/month

I have a high deductible plan with BCBS. Monthly premium is $121, deductible is $3300.

If you're looking for an individual not family policy BCBS high deductible (Blue Saver) or even Blue Value plan are good options. It's worth calling to find out. We've had BCBS for almost 13 years and have not a problem ... good luck.

For us the higher deductible plan is great. Ded + premiums was less cost yearly than a plan that allowed copays ... we're not sick people. We are comfortable with our situation that we can cover the ded a couple of times over. Fortunatley we've met the ded 1 time in 13 years .. and we met it on Feb 14 (dtr's bday is how I remember this) and they paid everything 100% after that.

And how is the process? How are claims handled? Have you always been able to get the treatment you've needed? I'm not trying to be political either ... I'm really just curious.

Forgot to mention travel insurance is alsoincluded.. I haven't used it outside of Norway yet apart from my travel insurance and it's worked well. My father had the same type of insurance when he worked in new york and he was always able to get help. He used his health insurance a bit but luckily he was never in an accident. They have 24 hour hotlines and once they even offered to send a chopper while he was on vacation in south America.

Unless your deductible is $50,000 on all policies you are being ripped off with crap insurance.

It's around 150 000 in case of damage to property and the
others are all either unlimited or over 200 000 dollars
