SGU - FAITH Spoilers

Anyone watch it yet?
Well we asked for more exploration off ship and on the ship. Who knew, they could make it so dull?
This may have been the dullest episode yet and that is saying something.
At least most of the crew has now bonded some off and on the ship so that might take care of the battle for control issues.
Just wish they could have found a way to do it that didn't induce a coma.

Yea, it was quite slow. Next week with Rush and the chair might be interesting

What happened to the review someone cited which said this episode was supposed to be better then the week before?
I'm keeping the faith though. So much potential. Plus with this moving to Tuesday nights it will give me some sci-fi on that night once LOST is gone.

I recently watched the last two eps, and I liked them both. Neither one wowed me, but I did like both of them.
To follow are some of my thoughts on the eps, but first... While I try to keep this show in its own perspective, lets face it, it has Stargate in the title! I was a fan of Stargate first; so naturally, I compare this show to the two originals. However, I do hope this show develops its own unique traits and becomes very enjoyable in its own right.
Now for the thoughts:
I liked the Rush implant, very SG1. I liked the use of the stones for once, with the surgery. I didn't like the surgeon asking some many dumb questions though. Yes, we are on a fricking spaceship with unusual resources and under attack. Stop asking and get to work.
I like the shuttles. Gives the ability to be mobile outside of gate travel and Destiny.
I still don't like the secrecy attitude/ I'm doing it this way because it has to be done this way, but I'm gonna make you question me until I finally explain, crap. This mainly pertains to Rush. It seems like there are reasonable motives to do things a certain way some times, but the instigator refuses to reveal his or her position or reasoning why, until a crapload of questioning and deducing has taken place. Fore example, Rush and the shields needing power vs Eli dissecting why not. Rush already had the answers but went through the motions anyway. This is probably just a shity plot tool to let the viewer know why it has to be done this way. Guess what SyFy, your 50 viewers aren't retards and are most likely sci-fi nuts.
The debate about staying on the planet/ should people be able to stay was fascinating. I had pondered this myself, whether or not they should ditch the ship once a viable planet was found. Clearly, they choose ship, not surprising as there wouldn't be much of show if they didn't.
The possibility of planet forming aliens.
Eli's Chole crush. /yawn:
The Destiny defense theory to hold of the aliens, I thought was crap. And if these aliens want the ship so bad, why are they blowing the crap out of it?
Wish I could connect more with the young Lt, but his name escapes me at the moment, indicating the level his character is on. :quickimdbsearch: Scott, Lt. Scott. Seems like he is the only reasonable one on the ship.
TJ is pregers. Great...
Anyone else not believe Eli is a trekkie?
I liked how the crew/ decions makers were receptive to Eli's thoughts on the shuttle mission. Much more open communication/ cooperation feel. I don't think the power struggle angle will ever go away, and probably should not, but I like the current status quo.
Again, I liked the premise of faith, "does everything happen for a reason?". But I thought the execution was weak. Also the narrow minded God or supreme being or advance alien, neglects the history of the ancients and the ori. Not saying there can't be a God or the God in the Stargate Universe, but the ancients ascended and could theoretically have infinite knowledge.
There is a fricking robot!... potentially. How awesome would an R2D2 be. It would be an SG first, imo. I don't think I am forgetting any critical SG robots. No, replicators do not count.
Rush will do whatever his necessary to back hi agenda. Completely against force one episode, then calling for more force than Young would allow in the next.
WTF of the series so far... Young and TJ hooking up, GTFO. Or did I miss understand that?
Overall, I liked both, but they did lack punch/ didn't feel like they were all that they could be. I primarily blame the character development to this point. Faith should have been an awesome episode.
ETA: I used lots of breaks, but that still looks like a wall of text.

Much better so far, at least we aren't watching them run around the ship all the time.

Was it really that much better watching them stare at waterfalls?
The show continues to plod along. I don't hate the show, but I don't see any of the recent episodes picking up new fans or sparking much interest.
I disagree Archie. I think the internal strife has been alleviated. Remember, they were apart for a month. I think all that time as brought them closer together.
Although Rush is still a wildcard since we still know nothing about his motivations.
Dr Jackson should be popping by for a visit soon, so hopefully he will be able to fix more of the ship.

I think the dr Jackson appearance has been a plot device to throw us off. Don't expect him to stone onto the ship

When is this happening? Been out of the loop.

Wow, that will piss me off so much if the Dr.Jackson episodes are nothing more than Rush flashbacks.

So much potential, this show feels like a waste of time. The only reason I am hanging with it is because I love scifi.

Same here. I am a huge SG1 fan and keep hoping that this one will one day come close before they pull the plug.

Remember that when someone stones back to Earth they show that person instead of the body they are currently in. So it is not necessarily a flashback, he could be consulting with Jackson about the ship.
It would be better if Jackson was on the ship of course, but after his experience with the stones and the Ori you can understand why he may not want to use the stones again.
Posted on 4/19/10 at 7:20 pm to PsychTiger
Ah, that is true. That is just Rush stoned to Earth talking to Jackson.
I understand they don't want to rely on Jackson or people from the old series, but it is about time for Rush to get some serious control over the ship.
Jackson and Carter would be halfway home by now.
So far this is Voyager Lite and most people hated Voyager, but this is even worse. By this point in Voyager I could at least name the crew. I still barely care enough about any of them to bother to remember names.
If the show doesn't pick up and next season plans to be as alien free as this season, I could see myself dumping this show.

Not stones.....
Alternatively, Jackson could have ascended, again ...
But, I don't think that would be a good way to go.

From the previews I think Rush is communicating with Jackson through the chair.
