is it just me or does he seem pretty overrated?? he seems to ground out to 1st the majority of the time. he's shown flashes while at LSU and will get hot at times but they dont last long.

am i the only one who thinks this way??

Has stretches every year where he can't seem to hit anything, but he always turns out a very productive year.

i just wish he was more consistent throughout the year.

Anybody know what Dean is hitting against the SEC so far? It seems like he is doing the exact opposite of last year. Hot start and now he is slumping. He has proven that he will finish with big numbers so it shouldn't be too concerning. Once he gets going I think our offense will get going just like last year.

He is not a complete player. Thus he is still in college.

He is pretty much the missing link for us right now. That and Landry coming up big with runners on base.

Dean's in the low .200s in the SEC and was 1-for-5 today I believe .. He isn't agressive enough early in the count and constantly puts himself in defensive 0-2 and 1-2 counts .. you don't get to hit your pitch in that spot ..

The guy can hit. Maybe not at the next level but he is a very good college hitter. He was a big reason we made the CWS the last 2 years. 2008 in particular. Last year we were pretty loaded so he had a lot of help. This year they're isn't quite as many top notch hitters in the lineup to help him out.

Baseball seasons have a lot of ebb-n-flows. Most players have a few slumps along the way.

Hope Dean will get hot soon.

he needs to snap out of this funk for sure. he's gotta be hitting at just around .200 in league play.

Dean needs a Russ Johnson type season where he flirts with .400 and crushes 20. I think he just won't eclipse that amazing sophomore year.

But hey...he's dat Fiya man.
