Why would Miles not start Lee?

And I absolutely do not want this to turn into another "Lee vs. Jefferson" thread or a "Miles Sucks" thread, I am strictly interested in opinions on what will factor into Miles's utimate decesion. And this is more interesting to me at this point than the standard "Both our QBs suck" threads.
I think we can all at least agree that Lee looked better than Jefferson in the spring game. By how much is a matter of opinion, but I think most will concede that as fact. That being said, I can think of a few reasons why Miles' wouldn't start Lee:
1) The spring game is only a small snippet we get to see, and Jefferson has still outplayed Lee overall to maintain #1
2) Les is concerned with Lee's psyche and that no matter what he does/how well he plays in practice, like a lot of our fans, he just doesn't trust Lee in games
3) Les is feeling the warmth of his seat and doesn't feel like he's in a position to take such a gamble that could 'cause a huge backlash from the fanbase for even doing it, much less if it blows up in his face
Feel free to add more reasons. For me, I hope to goodness that it's #1. I could understand #2(though I think there's a big difference between a 4th year JR and a 2nd year FR), but #3 would kinda piss me off. What say you?

I think Les is the type of coach that would rather a qb that won't lose the game for him. He would rather Jefferson take sacks than lee throw ints. Lee is the type that will hit the big play for you then give up a big one right after.
Jefferson is a more conservative qb

Miles saw Lee struggle against La Tech and Bama last year.

I can't understand why anyone who has followed LSU football would want to see Lee on the field. I was a Lee supporter as well until I saw him on the field again last year. The La Tech game was the most painful thing to watch. He simply makes terrible decisions in game situations. Maybe he will improve but he hasn't proven that and a "spring" game doesn't prove much.

The coaching staff collectively will determine which QB gives the team the best chance to win. My guess is that Miles, Crowton, and Gonzales will team up and make this determination based on who can best execute the offensive scheme implemented by Crowton.
I have thrown out the concept of utilizing both in a 2 QB system which, judging from the comments I recieved on the 2 threads I started on the subject, 10% FOR...90% AGAINST.
But...I digress...to your original question...the QB who gives you the best chance to win will determine who starts at QB.

Can this be the last word on this? Please.

Did you mean to post this elsewhere? Because that shite is out of the question with this illiterate bunch.

fwiw, QB's don't mature or gain confidence at LSU. I learned that by reading the rant.
Play at LSU plateaus and however you play as a RS Fresh, that's how they will perform as a Jr/Sr. There's no two ways around that. That's FACT.

1) Disagree.
2) Lee showed a bit of improvement in the spring game to me. He threw the pick and that's the only thing people want to look at. But if you watch more than just that, IMO, he looked like he had MUCH MORE command of the offense as a whole than Jefferson. Now, maybe he needs to learn to read defenses a little better and not panic, you'd have your starting QB.
3) IMO, Jordan Jefferson will be the dagger in the heart of Les Miles at LSU. He can thank Ryan Perrilloux for most of that though because he put the program in a tailspin at the position.

I think its definately number 3. He knows he'll get more points with Lee and he would rather see the offense struggle then take chances with pick 6's. JMO...
Totally disagree with #1. I think that he has shown no improvement in 1 and 1/2 years.
As for #2, I can agree, but most young men go through rough times and struggle, you have to give them a real opportunity to prove their worth. otherwise your just rear-ending them...and thats not right...

I can't understand how anyone would want Jefferson on the field after watching any game other than Georgia Tech. He holds the ball FOREVER and takes sack after sack. How anyone can get behind a QB that lead the worst LSU offense since...honestly I can't remember an LSU team with a worse offense statistically in my lifetime...is beyond me. I'm not saying JL should 100% be the starter, but to blindly say JJ should be is retarded. He has shown NOTHING to say he should be the #1 right now.

Excellent point, and one I should have presented.

Gee, how about this. Miles will start the quarterback who he thinks gives him the best chance to win that day and the next. It could be Lee, it could be Jefferson, or it could be Carlos, that kid from around the block who always plays quarterback when my kids play in the street.
Carlos looks pretty darn good with that ball. After a 3-one thousand, he is either off or the ball is out of his hands. Don't think I've ever seen him take a touch-sack, at least not two handed.

It is absolutely amazing to me that people think that is all Lee would do. Like he would absolutely match what he did as a RS Freshman 2 years ago.

Oh, and it won't be long before Nuts4LSU's beeper goes off and he'll be in this thread ruining it.

Of course, but that is subjective, and 2 reasonable people can have different opinions on who that QB is

Also, whatever happened to you don't lose your job to an injury?
