I know the game was a blowout so this could have been lost within the game...but i didn't get to listen to much and do to the recent carousel at third base i was wondering how the guy did tonight??

1 for 2 with a triple and 3 walks. No errors out in the field. Nice to see him get more pitches to actually swing at as Alcorn was horrible

thanks for the feedback. From the little bit of the game i did hear it didn't seem like Alcorn pitching was much but i'm glad to see he got some solid playing time

Given Mainieri's emphasis on solid defense, don;t look for Koeneman to have a shot at third. he is not a third baseman by trade, and it showed. Nola bailed him out on a couple and he missed a very easy grounder down the line. Come to think of it, I'm trying to remember if he had any assists tonight. Anyhow, I think Mainieri just wanted to get him some experience. Personally, I'd go with Dozar at third if I had to pick someone right now.

He looked very stiff in the field. Not very nimble. He didn't have any assists and like someone else said, Nola bailed him out a couple of times. His triple barely missed the bleachers but....
Wet hit a homer late in the game and dozar looked good at the plate. Wait... Who didn't look good at the plate?

I still think Dozar has earned more PT than Wet or Beau. I realize Koenamen is just getting started. Hanover at 3rd and Dozar at 2nd does it for me.

The problem playing Dozar is that he is your backup to Gibbs behind the plate.

So you are basically saying he looked much better at 3B than Wet and about on par with Beau. Plus he can hit and has a good eye.

Seriously.. I have seen Wet and Beau play some of the worst 3B I have seen at the college level. Dozar is much better. I missed last nights game so didnt get to see Koeneman though but I cant imagine him being any worse than the other two.

no. for starters Wet is better than Beau in the field imo. and Keoneman looked worse than both. agility wise at least. dude couldnt get to a slow grounder 3 feet to his left.

You are basing the fact that he has a good eye and can hit off of one game where everyone looked good at the plate. Wet hit a homerun as well.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but i think Wet is better than Didier at this point.

i wouldnt mind giving him a chance to start again tonight against a real opponent. that said..dozar is much more nimble over at 3rd and dude is hitting like .380.

you can't keep him out of the lineup much longer.

Neither would I, if he looks good tonight, then I'd consider him for the position when we face a lefty. But I think they need to find a spot for Dozar to play tonight as well. Just keep the audition going. Put Dozar at 2nd and give Hanover a break, or put him at DH and give Gaudet a break.

Koeneman was 1 for 2 and two walks. As others have said, he didn't look very comfortable in the field. A couple of hot smashes went past him; another bouncer went over his head for a single. (LSU must have expected the batter to bunt, he was playing so close in.) Also as others have said, he missed a bouncer to his left that Nola, backing him up, snagged and threw the runner out. He did catch an infield popup but almost overran that one, too. He didn't really look like a third baseman last night.

I hope he can improve. I'd love to see him get some more at bats.
