I do not folllow LSU softball however I do know my football ticket fees fund the program. I thought LSU had an "all world" pitcher coming in from the northeast and this would push Yvette onto the next level. Under Yvette it is always wait until next year. With the money being spent on her I think LSU could and should do better.

How can someone who doesn't follow the sport have a valid opinion about it?

It's a title 9 sport. We have to spend money on it. Not many really care about the results.

I hate to bust your bubble but Football pretty much pays for all other sports. They do have an "all world" pitcher. It is a big step up from high school ball to major college softball. Give her time, this team will be a top 5 team.

If you want to bitch about it then write a letter to your congressman. LSU has pride in all of its sports so it tries to give even the minor sports great attention.

As another poster said, all the sports other than football are pretty much money drains.

I say pay the softball coach $60,000 and recruit only within a 250 mile radius. Results will be the same, wait until next year.

yeah they suck....#12 in the country 25+ game winning streak have heaten ranked 5 teams this year. 29-7 record. How many ranked teams has the baseball team beaten this year? 1 I believe. The reason your ticket prices went up is not because of the softball team BTW her record is 1200-387. That averages out to a 40-12 a year average over her 30 years. The softball team more that carries their weight. And as for the Fico girl is concerned she is 11-3 and a 1.27 era and had won 10 games in a row. Not too bad as a freshman.

How many fans show up to see them carry their weight?

You wouldn't recognize a real coach if they hit you in the head with a softball.

Do we really need to go down the list of coaches we have to determine who is real and not?

you mean the one who had won 10 straight games until her loss yesterday. 11-3 with an era of 1.2?

11-3 is an excellent record. However this weekend they were matched against quality competition and failed miserably. Expect more of the same in Tuscaloosa on Wednesday?
