You also forget the program that Miles inherited. He was not responsible for recruiting all the players during that initial run. What we see today is a 100% Miles program of mediocrity in coaching and player development.

This is such a tired argument.
majority saban's players= 34-6
majority miles players= 17-9 fact
plus miles walked into a much better situation than saban fact

Miles achieved greater success with Saban's players than Saban did. This is a fact.
saban 1 nc 2 sec titles
miles 1 nc 1 sec title fact

I defy you to name a coach in the country who would not be intimidated at the prospect of playing the team this year. Far more teams view us as a behemoth than a cupcake.

Actually, by your standards, Saban won the first SECCG with Dinardo's players. Just sayin....

As soon as Miles took over the program, they all became his players. To my knowledge, none of them came with Saban to Miami or transferred to Alabama when he came back to college.

Saban: 48 - 16
Miles: 51 - 15

dooley, mullen, saban, nutt, meyer, butch davis, petrino

Dooley: first-year SEC coach
Mullen: lost to LSU when the had Dixon on the roster...
Saban: has had to eek out wins against a down LSU team for the last two years
Nutt: is facing severe loss of talent to the NFL and is starting a new QB
Meyer: is not coaching next year
Davis: had a worse offense than LSU last year
Petrino: Mallett gives them a good chance to win, and LSU fades at the end of the season. If anyone could be "confident" about playing us, it's them.
