Pictures of the final demolition stage of the old Box. The last three are pretty powerful with Skip watching the last part being torn down. to the old Box.

I really hope they leave home plate intact (some kind of marker), kind of sad, lots of memories but it was time, that place was a dump.

I heard they were going to put a marker where it was in the parking lot, but I'm not sure.

Skip should've called me, I would have shown up with a couple of beers and cigar!

Where is Smoke, Cano, Dailey and Schwanke in that picture with Skip?

Good stuff. That last picture would be so depressing if the program was in a decline.

Who played high school ball at the Box?
I remember playing St. Louis and Chad Ogea pitched against us and I also remember playing summer ball there - American Legion. Never sniffed college ball but would have to say attending entire 90 regional was greatest memory of a LSU game (Bret Boone HR tear, Cordani blast, wind damage delaying game to next day, LSU would not be denied). USC 90 team was probably best overall team I have ever seen in Box.

I remember going to every game growing up. It went out in style though. The final game was a great way to retire it.

I am so sad. I hate to see it go. I know that it was time, but from 1986-2008, that was a very special place for me.

I wonder if I can buy any of those pictures?

The entire facility should have been renovated and turned into the womens softball facility. No, we're gonna get a nice "public eyesore" gravel parking lot, at least for a few years. ........

I wasn't an LSU fan growing up, had never really paid any attention to it until my sophomore year of HS when I was looking at colleges. When I was there (2005-2009) I lived at the Box in the spring. I probably missed less than 15 home games my entire college career, excluding postseason because I always had to come home.

I think they may have a way... I'm not sure though.
