that it will make or break our Omaha chances??? no
This is all that matters. Your "team chemistry" rant is the biggest stretch of an argument I've seen on this board in a while.

I think I have to agree with Lester on this one.
What exactly is the downside to scheduling some tougher opponents early in the year?
If you lose to tougher competition: Assuming you have athletes who are dedicated and won't falter with a series loss, then there is no downside. Even with a loss, you find who can pull through in pressure/clutch situations. You can adjust your pitching rotation or closers based on the situation. It basically prepares the team for conference tourney/regionals/Omaha type situations.
If you win: You gain more confidence and you still get the benefits mentioned above.
I'm not saying all teams need to schedule nothing but top 25 OCC opponents, but you can certainly sprinkle a few here and there.

I ranted on team chemistry? I think i mentioned it in 1 sentence.
anyway, facing adversity helps develop team chemistry and builds confidence.
struggling to win a tight game....coming back from a deficit...etc...
I hardly ranted on it...It's only one of the few things that could be gained by playing a better team.
