who thinks he will get redshirted this season?
i think he will especially if he plays rb, unless our backfield is plagued by injuries again.

I haven't seen him perform personally, but from what I hear he may be too good to not have on the field from day 1.

Don't hold your breath.
Richard Murphy, with two total knee surgeries, is currently installed as the leading RB.
This is about more "Seniors' First Hat Dance!"
I have said it all along, and I reiterate, Hat will not and CANNOT change his Big 10 ways. I just hope Rodriguez screws up ROYALLY at UM. I really do.

I would think not. Scott and Williams didn't get redshirted when they were freshmen. and we had Vincent, Broussard, and Hester as upperclassmen for that year.
Ware is such a beast already too.

Will you saying this when all the incoming freshman become Jr.s and Sr.s?

redshirted unless murphy, ridley, and ford all go down with injury. miles is like dinardo, too stubborn to change.

quote:According to who? Murphy is not even participating in contact this spring. What makes you assume he will be running with the 1's. He may very well earn the starting spot this fall but the starting RB position is not going to be handed to a guy coming off a major knee injury. That is just more rant bullshite. Ridley and Ford will be running with the 1's during the spring because they are the only RB's who will be available for contact. Also, it would be kind of hard to have Ware anywhere on the depth chart since he is not even on campus yet. Why don't you at least wait until fall practice and Ware actually being on the team and learning the playbook before you start with the Miles does not play freshman bullshite.

Ha, did you just ignore my comment about Scott and Williams playing as true freshmen

no one has faith miles will play the best player, and still think he will favor seniors.

Until it's proven that Murphy can bounce back from knee surgery, Ridley is No.1 Ford is No.2 Murphy is No.3 and Ware is No.4

dumbass..you don't know how good this guy can be. Let him play against some guys before you go and make statements like that.

Ware is the real deal, but to compare an 18 year-old fresh out of high school kid competing against 22 and 23 year-olds ... is ridiculous. What Richardson did as a frosh at Bama last year was remarkable, but he learned from Ingram and Upchurch and was running behind a not too shabby O-line.

Depends. Unless someone can fill the true power back role, then he'll play. I'm not sold on Ridley being a power guy and Ford was billed that in HS...yet hasn't proved it yet at the collegiate level(obviously). We know Miles likes strong backs...Ware might be too good to keep off the field unless Ford just totally blows it up. Judging by what was said last year...hes going to need a lot of development from then to now to win the staff over. Don't be surprised to see Ware in a 4 back rotation until someone separates from the rest.

I'm not sure that Ware is better than Ridley, Ford, and Murphy, but who else is gonna be the 4th RB? Unless Shep gets bunch of Harvin-like plays at RB, we have 3 good RBs on campus right now.
The only true variable in all of this is Frank Wilson. He can take the "primary starting RB" route and have an actual starter who is occaisioally spelled by someone else depending on the situation. See 2008 with Charles Scott. Or, he can go RB by committee and use all of the RBs evenly. I hope he goes with the latter and mixes if up. All of our RBs have slightly different styles, especially Murphy.

I'm just saying that bama did have a star back that was virtually crowned the starter..we have murphy, very unproven still besides spring game performances..ridley, made a few nice runs but still relatively unproven as an every down back..ford, hasnt even played..
see where i am getting at? Ware is already big if not bigger than some of our backs(bulkier)..i don't know if he has all of the mental capabilities(plays, etc) to take a part-time role as a running back in the SEC for his first year but would it hurt to try out his abilities to see where he stands amongst our other relatively unproven backfield?
I think that Ford and Ware will be the big 1-2 punch we need at RB for the next several years. I would love to see Stevan Ridley be in that mix and i am sure he will be based on seniority but i think that Ware and Ford have the potential to be more talented come this fall and into next year
