Or you can buy tickets ten minutes before the game for a fraction to what season ticket holders pay

Basically...anyone who isn't rolling around in dough...won't get tix. THANK YOU TAF!!@!@!
Oh well we all saw it coming

In the past, contributions associated with tickets were included in the calculation of Priority Points for new season tickets, parking permits and upgrades. With the new policy, only those donations not associated with tickets and parking, such as donations toward construction projects and scholarships, will figure in the distribution of new tickets and parking.
That reads like those who were donating above and beyond their "mandatory" donations were getting pissed that everyone in the stadium was suddenly ammassing priority points.

Are the going to go back and revamp the whole policy? meanng beginning 3/3/10 everyone that has given nothing beyond the mandatory for tickets will have a zero point balance? If this is the case we will have a new rank! there would be a pile of people with the goose egg in points!

and of course they tell you to go to TAF's website, which has not been updated.

TAF is really starting to push this thing to the brink of a tipping point ..

Not at all. This will eliminate someone that has tickets already from using the priority points gained from previous TAF ticket contributions and Tradition Fund donations from using their status to acquire new tickets over someone that is getting tickets for the first time. If you've been giving $100/year for 5 years in order to climb the waiting list for football season tickets, you won't be getting screwed by a guy with 4 end zone season tickets that is trying to get some additional tickets (his approx. $800 mandatory contribution each year and the priority points gained through that donation won't help him in his pursuit for new tickets). Obviously it won't hurt to make some restricted gifts to TAF, LSU Foundation or Alumni Association.
This is only impacting the priority points for "New tickets and parking passes." Nothing is happening to the overall priority point system. Points are not resetting.
Read and comprehend, then comment!

nah .. it just makes it more difficult for the hog fricking whales in the stadium that have 12 season tickets -- only four of which that they ever use -- from getting more tickets ... the problem is they hang onto 8 tickets that they either give away or just don't use for every game and it cuts into the pool that could be available for new season ticket holders .. tiger stadium NEEDS new season ticket holders .. it needs new LIFE ..

the only question i have about this .. is .. if someone currently has, say, 8 season tix on their account currently ... if the demand is too high, does LSU basically tell them they can only have 4 of them for the next season so they can be redistributed amongst new season ticket holders ??
that would be really interesting for the resale market outside the stadium, because that would cut deeply into the number of unused tickets available on gameday and people trying to get face value back or make a little money on bigger games would then be able to ... the guy with the 8 tickets is basically dumping the 2 or 4 that he doesn't use for next to nothing ... if he has the money to buy 8 season tix, getting back at least face value means nothing to him ...

The way I read this article...
If the new system is going to be put in place for new season ticket and parking request this year, TAF and LSU will have to reset the priorty point ranking based upon donations not associated with ticket and parking contributions. If you don't revise how can you determine who has more donations to the other programs and not just to the guy that has 12 tickets.
If they don't reset, it wouldn't take affect until next year. Points have already been accured for this year for ticket donations!

"This modification to the Priority Point System will have no effect on existing ticket assignments and parking locations".
LSU isn't going to take away any tickets from anyone that already has them and redistribute to people who don't.

And their timing may not be ideal, either. Just when the football program is in a downturn is probably not the best time to try to gouge people.

actually .. it looks like it puts things on equal footing for some people .. really only affects new, incoming season ticket holders more than anyone as well as long time ticket holders with insane amounts of tickets just gobbling shite up ..

I was hestitating even donating this year because of the raipd increase in tradition fund. But this is excellent news. Those who say taf doesn't give a shite about the "common" fan can now stfu.
