First Post

I would like to take a dive into stock market. Anybody have suggestions for:

1)Stocks with high growth oppurtunity (small cap)
2)Stable stocks (like Microsoft, IBM etc)
3) Emerging Market ETF's ( I think Brazil, India, China, Russia ETF's are already priced in)

Thanks

I have around 10K to invest

But seriously, what are you asking for? Names of stocks/etf's?

I'm looking for PDC to come back in mid to late june with its seasonal returns to about $8.50. It's currently @ $7.09.

Also, if interested in pennies, CDIV has the potential to hit $.50. **Notice the word "potential"**

Short in RCII

Small Cap

Long in VTG

Microcap

Long in APPI

I'm holding about 50% of my IRA in cash.

Make sure to introduce yourself to the OT. Over their, they expect graphic, tragic IRL stories about PIIHB and relationship problems. Don't let them down.

And make sure to post a bunch of porn and handbra pics. If you don't, they will eat you alive.

Getting to your question:

1 & 2: Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund.

3: Vanguard Total International Stock Market Index Fund.

I am about 60% in these. The rest is cash, ammunition, and guns buried in undisclosed locations around the US.

you sound bitter for some reason ?

OP...to answer your questions:

#1 - MVIS .... you will have opportunity over the next month for a move up...selling is up to you at that point.... US launch is imminent ...I also like ASTI at these prices as a hold for 2 years but also a short term trade depending upon gov contracts

#2 - I kind of agree with Hidden Flask ...but XOM is still affordable

#3 - can't say sorry

VSS is worth considering-international small cap including small cap emerging market exposure. I swapped out of DLS for this when Vanguard brought it out April, 2009. It is very volatile and whether now is a good time to buy or not---that is your conundrum, my crystal ball is hazy. It's not something I would buy as a singular holding, either.

That's my personal account.

The longer I look at RCII, the shittier I think the company is. I just think that it's taking on too much risk lately and I think that the original business idea sucks. They are a mature company in a mature industry and they still aren't paying dividends.

Nothing too funny about MVIS, I actually haven't looked at it for more than a second so I really couldn't give you an honest opinion on it. Just find the amount of bickering on this board about MVIS slightly humorous.
