3-run homerun for Southern Miss!

Southern Miss announcer (not the usual one, who is at the basketball game): "That will put us on top!" ... it was already 7-3 Southern Miss.

Did anyone else see where Tulane is starting 7 true freshman and 2 sophmores? I don't think I've ever seen that before.

It's pretty crazy, but they dont do it everyday. It's usually 5 Freshman and 3 Sophomores and they have 1 Freshman starting pitcher. There starting Catcher is serving part of an 11 game suspension so they had 1 more Freshman starting today.

I was talking to a friend who is a Tulane season ticket holder and he was saying that for the last few games they have been starting 7 freshman because the 2 sophmores that were starting opening day weren't cutting it.

I went ahead and looked at their roster and they have 17 freshman and 8 sophmores on a 34 man roster.

Well they have a different lineup almost everyday. Bruno is one of the sophomores that starts, but he doesnt face lefties. So they have atleast 3 sophomores in the lineup whenever Schaffer is playing. Also, I think they have a legit shot to take 2 of 3 from Ole Miss next weekend. I will be there for atleast 1 of them, hopefully.

Bruno will only see spot playing time unless he begins to hit. Here is the "normal" lineup if everyone gets healthy.

LF Boudreaux (FR)
C or OF Crohan (Fr)
3b Rob Segedin (So)
c or 1b Shafer (So)
ss Cannizaro (Fr)
2b Middleton (fr)
CF Boullosa (Jr) has been hurt today was 1st game he played in Zabel a FR has been playing alot in his place
1b or DH Ryan (So)
DH Shortall or Robinson (both Fr)

Fr Kyle McKenzie is the midweek starter

Any way you look at it they are very young but they do have talent. This week they will face South Alabama in Mobile then Ole Miss comes in for the weekend; good test early in the year for all those young pups.

Texas ended up sweeping Stanford. Damn nice turnaround after dropping the series against New Mexico last weekend.
