Seems like he's got his head screwed on straight.

"People say left tackle is the most crucial [line position], and it is critical because you have to keep your quarterback clean and blah, blah, blah. But at guard, you have to do the same thing. The difference is if you get beat, the quarterback can see the tackler coming at him."
Which is exactly why LT is the most important position.

I actually got a little closure from reading this. Ciron was viably upset a number of times last year, looks like he was disappointed in the same things as us: poor blocking and QB holding the ball too long.

Last season, Black got beat a couple of times when he felt he shouldn't have. He was playing on an inexperienced line, and on some occasions he would detect an inside blitz and be preoccupied rather than focusing completely on the guy across from him.
"I shouldn't have been worrying about blitzes inside and should have been worrying about my man," he said. Line play was just one reason LSU finished 9-4 last season. For most programs, a nine-win season is a good season. That's not really the case in Baton Rouge. "It was a decent season," Black said. "Almost anywhere else in the country, it would have been a good season...

frick that. Ciron got his arse beat all year long. He can't blame anyone but himself for showing up fat and out of shape. I love Ciron as a person but he was a weak link last year when he didn't have big Herm next to him.

Interesting that they tried him at C. I've long thought he'd be a RT or G. Also have thought that he's actually shy of 6'4, let alone the 6'5 they list him at. I wanna see how that turns out.

On NFL Radio there was a discussion of the uncertainties of future draft projections and how rankings change over time. Gil Brandt cited Black as a specific example saying that last year most thought he would be a top 10-15 selection, but that now he will have a tough time breaking the top 100.
Ouch.
Ouch.

False. Three or four times out of 750 snaps is not all year long. He still blasted more opponents on their butts than anyone else in the SEC. The line was weak but not CB.
