3 out of the 5 pick les miles to be on the hot seat and he is not on the hot seat , Look I am the biggest Miles supporter but if the offense does not improve and we have a losing record in the sec , there will be serious question marks

I agree. Do you think Bama, Florida, OSU, USC, OU, etc. strive for 2-5 loss seasons? no, they want perfection...and THAT is what makes their programs' "elite"... Hiring, recruiting, developing, executing, etc to win EVERY game EVERY YEAR !!!

The LSU brass has experienced the financial rewards of an elite football program for several years before Mickey Mouse led us back down to mediocrity.

If Miles loses 3 or 4 games this here...he will be asked to leave or LSU will negotiate a settlement for him to step down... git some !!!

Yes, he's made some dumb moves (what coach hasn't?!), and he's also made some good ones. People always want to talk about Ole Miss, but they forget the ending of the Ark. game.

What ending? The ending where he didn't completely frick everything up like he did the previous week? A "good move" for Les is a common sense move for just about every coach in FBS.

I guess we should be glad we pulled out that win against a 4-loss juggernaut at home on Senior Day.

Want to know another nonsensical move? This wasn't one that likely would've impacted the result, but it clearly shows that he's incapable of making elementary coaching decisions.

Auburn 2007. No, not the shot to the endzone, Flynn took his sweet arse time on that and Les isn't at fault for that. It's the decision to go for an XP after that TD.

THERE IS NO REASON WHATSOEVER TO EVER KICK AN EXTRA POINT UP 5 WITH SECONDS TO GO. EVER. Is it likely that Auburn would return a kickoff all the way? Of course it isn't. But the decision to kick an XP instead of trying for 2 is mind-boggling. There is literally no reason to kick an XP. You might as well punt on the PAT if you're not going for 2.

It's a no-brainer for every other coach in the business. Except Les.

You can live in denial about Les Miles, but his record in the SEC, the last two years, is 8-8.

This is not what we signed up for, by paying 4M.

We have seriously slipped down, and if some "unclued blogger" disagrees, it does not change the heat on Hat's back side. He will have to dramatically improve.

Well, I think moving some 40 yeards in about 30 seconds is pretty good clock management...for anyone. And anytime we can beat Ark., I'm happy. I'm a Louisville fan as well, and I followed his career closely at UL. He ALWAYS scares me to death, and I don't care what his record is.

...IMO, since the university hasn't extended Miles' contract last year and this year, I think that puts him on the hotseat.

(i) a few decent if not spectacular seasons with two inexperienced, sophomore QBs and a two new DCs

The majority of QBs are not experienced. The difference is most other QBs are actually coached and developed, which we don't do at LSU. The "new DCs" excuse? Les' fault for thinking Malveto was an acceptable alternative to an actual DC.

quote:

(ii) six straight top 15 recruiting classes

And since his first class became seniors, he's .500 in conference play. LSU also recruits itself. How about his awesome classes actually show up on Saturday?

quote:

(iii) is the only Tiger coach to beat Florida, Alabama and Auburn in a single season, ever... and he’s done it twice

And from this point on it's realistically unlikely that he'll ever do so again. He might not ever beat 2 of those teams in the same year ever again.

quote:

(iv) produced a good graduation rate

Well frick give the man an extension.

quote:

v) is just three years removed from winning it all

Winning it all in the luckiest way imaginable, when we easily could've lost 5 games and had it not been for everyone else's chokes we'd be playing in the Sugar Bowl. And the obvious, it wasn't with his players. If he could prove that his own recruits were capable of playing at a high level (maybe winning a division title on their own for starters), then this wouldn't be a bullet point. But it is.

quote:

riddle me this: what top flight coach is going to step into that nightmare?

What nightmare? There's no program-wide nightmare. Alleva and the AD, as annoying as they can be, aren't Texas Tech. Les is the nightmare. If we lose 4 conference games this year, what top-flight coach would ever honestly think Les would deserve another year and be scared by his firing? Top-flight coaches have ridiculous egos. If a potential new coach is scared of being fired for fielding a .500 team, he has no business at LSU or any other elite/very good program.

quote:

Good luck finding a truly A-list coach to take his place.

Every A-list coach looking for a better job who watches LSU is watching the most underachieving program in the country...asking himself why the frick Les is getting paid what he is, contemplating what he'd give to have LSU phone him up.

For the dummies who still don't know it is not Les Miles fault Crowton is still here. I will say it again.

We were forced to keep Crowton because of his big buyout. So Les went and got BG to help the situation as much as he could.

Blame our AD for giving Crowton that ridiculous contract.

Also Blame Les Miles and our staff for bringing in another great recruiting class, even with the program having 2 mediocre years and late decommitments.

Collegefootballnews.com just posted a roundtable discussion with various SEC bloggers

See the other thread on this exact topic. The blogger is, of course, full of shite. The old "no one will want to come here if we fire this coach" is the most overused piece of bullshite that shitty coach apologists have relied on for decades.

Don't you love how we're always hearing opposing fans say this about Les Miles? Makes me confident we've got the right man for the job.

I dont think its about wins or losses, but just the simple fact that the games we lost were within reach and due to poor descision making and clock management. This is what has Les on the seat
