The man has given this University a lot of years and loves LSU. I will listen to him anytime he is on the air, he is LSU as a broadcaster.

This may be true, but it doesn't make him good at what he's paid to do. He is particularly weak at baseball IMO.

I like them both for their passion for LSU Athletics. Who cares if Hawthorne has some slip ups. The man bleeds purple and gold.

Call me a big ole homer, but I like all of LSU's broadcasters...Hawthorne, Hanagriff, Doug Moreau, Patrick Wright, even Jordy...
