This board is usually really good from now until the first of January of be very objective without criticism on these kids. But, once the season is over and the rantards move in it really is horrible the things they say.

I've coached kids who have grown men myspaceing them, and if there is a sign of going to another school they get cussed and talked down too.

No doubt that recruits read the sites. Sonny mentions parents being on TSD quite often.

Yep, dad of a 5 star recruit a few years back told me he viewed TD and some other sites while saying that tiger fans were nice to his son, a few other college sites were not. It matters to anyone who has feelings, dad or recruit. Would it matter to you?

The other thing that disturbes me are some of the comments posted when games are in progress. God forbid the poor athlete who makes an error, commits a a foul, fumbles or does something else human. After feeling humiliated for hours and finally arriving home, the temptation of reading the emotional responses of how terrible he or she was and why they should be replaced must be a horrifying experience which can alter the ego dramatically. To be a disappointed fan is human and to be upset is fair (darn, oh no, etc.) but not ridicule them. Just saying.
