Good for you. It takes lots of practice and is a very expensive hobby but if you are good, it's a very profitable career choice as well.
I assume you've taken some classes. Do you get critiques from a professional photographer? I hope you'll continue with this!

Yeah, I get critiques from some pros on a photography forum. I'm still a year or two away from being able to charge money. I doubt it will be a "career"--if you remember, you and I were in Tiger Band at the same time, so it may be a little late in the game for me to switch jobs...
...but a little side work to pay for new equipment wouldn't be bad! I am self taught. I read a lot of books and scour others' work.
