It's really unfair that Hank Baskett is a "goat" IMHO

If you look at the replay, Reis actually had a worse "miss" on the onside kick than Baskett.
I mean Reis was trailing and knew exactly what was coming. It bounced off of Baskett's helmet/hand and right to Reis, who muffed it himself.
Now I know that Chris ultimately wound up with it, but if he hadn't I have the feeling that he wouldn't be considered a huge goat like Baskett is.
I guess I don't have a really huge point here - just that it kind of seems unfair as to who is labeled a "goat" sometimes. Norwood misses a 47 yard fieldgoal on a torn up grass field and is a "goat". Baskett misses a tough catch on a surprise kick with 5 Saints bearing down on him and he's a "goat". Reis muffs the same kick in a worse fashion, but since he found a way to steal the ball back from behind his hamstring he is not a "goat" but a special teams "hero". Such a thin line.

There's no way he could have known it would bounce off of Baskett. From the design of the play and Roby flying past Baskett, I'm guessing that it was intended for Roby to clear him out, which would have left the ball right where Baskett was. Instead it bounced back up field.
He missed, sure, but it's easy to be forgiven when he ended up with the ball anyway.
I don't see Baskett as a goat though. Colts fans looking for a reason they lost to the Saints will call him a goat. It doesn't help that he's supposed to have good hands, but I don't think hands had anything to do with it. I think he knew Roby was about to kill him and he ducked

Considering Basket is a wide receiver (even though I use that term loosely) and his whole job is to catch and to hold on to balls thrown at him, yeah, he is a pretty big goat for not hanging on to that thing.

He wasn't expecting the ball to bounce how it did. That onside kick was fantastic.

Unlike Baskett, Reis got an incredible bounce - slow motion right into his bread basket.
Again I'm not dogging Reis - he came away with the ball and that's what matters. He's by no means a goat - his recovery is up there in Saints lore.
It just shows how thin the margin of error can be sometimes.

it hit in front of him then it went towards the saints. It was a great onside kick but it did take a weird bounce.

Looked like Baskett was low to the ground and had the ball jump and hit him in the helmet.
Had he not been so low, the ball may have bounced right into his hands...or not, since Hank prolly woulda had his head knocked off by Roby.

I will say, Reis may have missed the bounce but he more than made up for it in the strength it took to keep possession. In the slow mo, it looks like it's trapped against his hip. I can't even imagine what it took to not lose it in the scrum.
