This is why I wouldn't mind this guy.

I'd still rather a QB coach.

If Larry Scott is the best Miles can do, then we're in trouble. That would be a "scraping the bottom of the barrel" weak arse hire. He's only been coaching three years at USF. How about hiring somebody with a lot more experience from a top program and who has actually played the position. What's a former offensive lineman know about teaching TE's to run routes and catch passes?

Oh yeah, but bring him in because he'a a "great recruiter" a la D.J.McCarthy.

We already have Florida ties with BG. I'd rather someone with Texas ties and a QB coach. cough Major Applewhite cough

We can just give up on the QB coach thing. It's just not happening.

With this OL and no established FB, the TE is probably going to have to stay home to block anyway.
Stud should be able to competently handle teaching the TEs to block.

Holy shite, do you really think that THIS is the indicator? Christ, TE coaches are entry level lower rung coaching jobs. Who the hell did you expect?

Quick, who is the TE coach at Texas, Oklahoma, TN without GOOGLE you have no idea, the same amount you know about Larry Scott.

Give the bashing a freaking rest.

Cause they dont STAY tight end coaches if they are worth a shite. It is not a coaches lifetime aspiration.

The guy coached OL last year with USF + has TE coaching experience, and LSU needs another young guy with some energy to recruit. Do you see Stud and/or Chavis hitting the recruiting trail early to build a base for the 2011 class? I don't know how many "big time" TE coaches are out there, I am betting few to none as it is an extension of OL/WR coaching.

what the hell would a Tiger band alumunus know about quality coaching?....doesn't feel good does it..when somebody questions your decisions..give it a rest,..if you were qualified to coach LSU they would be asking for your input on hiring..so just keep blowing your horn or whatever it is you do....

#1 - this guy is INTERVIEWING......not hired

#2 - by all accounts, Stud does not "Coach em up" on the OL....this guy looks like a "Coach" with experience on OL and with TE's, maybe he can help Studs

#3 - recruiting Florida is never a bad thing.

Jesus Christ people your incessant negativity is ruinning this board.

You must understand the Tiger Rant formula:

1. Post an item of interest.
2. Wait 10 seconds for 100 responses that basically say:

a. Miles sucks
b. LSU is doomed
c. that is a stupid move
d. item mentioned in 1. above is exactly the reason LSU and Miles both suck
d. You are stupid and naive for even posting

If all future posters will just prepare yourself for this procedure, the process will move much smoother.
