My thoughts on your post:

Ego Ferguson: No offense but I can't stand the way we've handled our DL lately. I'm sick and tired of moving DEs inside. We needa quit depleting our DE talent. Ferguson has the speed and athleticism to be a freak on the edge. People remember Dorsey because he's the most recent but Hill/Spears were just as dominant on the edges if not moreso. I do agree that we need to improve our DT talent but not by taking from the DEs.

Eric Reid: I see no way he plays WLB. He'll be a SS or the SAM position that Coleman played this year. He's simply too good in coverage to have him at WLB IMO. I'd love to see him at SS personally.

Spencer Ware: I couldn't disagree here more. I'm more of a bird in the hand kind of guy so including people like Hilliard/Hill in the discussion is laughable to me. It's the same reason I said passing on Michaels last year because "we had Seastrunk" was assinine. Also, to even put Calhoun and Gore in the discussion with Ware is an insult to his abilities. Even moreso, I think it's somewhat crazy to even include Ford (never been a huge Ford fan); that's how good Ware is.

Alfred Blue: SLB
J.C. Coleman: DT (not a tweener, he's here for sure)
Cameron Fordham: Don't really care
Sam Gibson: S although I've heard he doesn't exactly adore contact
Justin Maclin: WDE
Tharold Simon: WR!!!!!!!!!!!! The fact that we're thinking of putting him at CB makes me nauseous
Ronnie Vinson: CB

agree with most of your thought except I think Vinson plays safety.

I personally think Ferguson could be an All-SEC talent at SDE or DT. But his speed has been overstated. I don't think there's any way he's in the 4.6 - 4.7 range that people throw around.

I can't argue with you and Books here... like I said, I expected that to be a controversial pick. But I'm just wary of putting so much stock into an All-Star week where he had a solid game but was in no way game-breaking. He doesn't have top-end speed. To me he's like a geared-down Trent Richardson. I would love to have to eat my words though, and I still think he will be a hell of a runningback even minus the A+ speed.

Seastrunk was never committed to LSU unlike Hilliard and Hill.

If you have a 6'4" kid who's as good at CB as at WR, you have to keep him at DB. It's a much tougher position to coach and to find talent.

You just said that it's crazy to include LSU's future feature back for the next 3-4 successful years in the same conversation with a current senior in high school that played quarterback and was recruited as an athlete.

You may not be into Michael Ford right now, but you will be in the coming months...and so will everyone else who supports LSU.

In my opinion, Michael Ford is easily our most promising back.
