I never understand people asking what they should order at places. Don't you have your own tastes? I've had wonderful meals there, and I think it's an unreal place for the North Shore. We are lucky this place exists. When I talk to other people who equally enjoyed it and listen to what they had, I think to myself that I would have never had that combination.
Friend went last weekend and had the softshell crawfish and said they were awesome. Sounds like they have some great ice creams too.
I think you can't go wrong with anything, unless you are ordering it because someone else liked it. They describe the dishes really well, that's what I mean. IDK.
ETA: The Tarte, PISSALADIÈRE, is what I had last time for an App and really enjoyed it.
Sick (meaning wicked good) MENU

So you do not understand someone on a Food board asking for sugestions to a place they have never been?? I also did not ask for anyone to order for me, I asked what the "must haves" were. For example i like escargot so now that another person said it was good there i might just order the escargot au pistou. But if enough people say it's done poorly I would probably stay away from it. Part of the fun about being on a board like this is bouncing ideas of each other

Maybe because most chefs do extremely well on certain dishes and not so much on others??

I can understand it for a normal type of place, like Parrains or something.
This is a critical cuisine joint that specializes in unique preparations and 'homegrown' ingredients.
With all the crazy stuff on that menu, escargot (though my wife ordered it - and loved it) and charbroiled oysters are far from taking a risk. Of course the damn escargot are good. That's why I edited to say the Tarte is worth a shot, if you at all are even thinking about it. I would take a chance at a place like this, order something in the hopes you are going to be blown away.
I don't understand how someone could be blown away by escargot or charbroiled oysters, although they are obviously very good things to eat.
I didn't mean to single you out, it's just something I see on here regularly and don't understand. I'm apologize for acting the arse.

If you don't understand how someone could be blown away by escargot...you probably haven't eaten them in many places...including Paris. I have.
