I judge a movie on how eager I am to keep it rolling, so while this one contains some of the stupidest, most intelligence-insulting shite I've ever seen, and while I'm not particularly fond of Quentin Tarantino's other films, I must confess that I wanted to see more Nazis scalped and more sleuthiness from Colonel Landa, who with District 9's Wikus are now my two favorite performances of the last year, and that I enjoyed this film but wouldn't lower myself to recommend it, no matter how hard it inspires me to write run-on sentences.

I loved this one. I wanted a little more Basterds involvement as well, but the tension Tarantino ramped up in this filmm was brilliant. I thought it was vintage tarantino (whose films I typically love), but with a maturity in filmmaking that he hasn't shown before.

this wrongly implies that you're pontificating from a position of respect and authority

Agreed. I have heard people say this is his best flick of all. I couldn't disagree more. Pulp Fiction is WAY superior and I feel like Jackie Brown, Kill Bill 1 and 2, and his portion of Four Rooms, were better. The Grindhouse movies didn't do it for me. I love Resevoir Dogs, but its rewatchability is minimal.

Basterds was just not very good.

This was the only sentence I agreed with. On what planet is Reservoir Dogs not rewatchable?

Disagree. Death Proof wasn't that great. Planet Terror was great and exactly what I thought a homage to a grindhouse film should be.

I was gonna jump all over this, but then I realized it was Rex, who tortures himself everyday just by getting out of bed.

My only problem is that I wished the ending had been different.

Can we get Chicken to install a pop-up feature that's like a security warning that says: "BE WARNED: You are clicking on a thread that contains a post from Rex. If you still wish to enter, please click "Yes". If you would like to protect your brain cells, please click "No." Thank you from your friends at TD."

How the hell can you say Kill Bill 1 is better than IB?

I thoroughly enjoyed the dialogue in this one, as with any Tarantino film.

It also gave me a nostalgic feel with some of the camera work, specifically towards the end.

What could have been a better ending? Just shooting Landa? No he deserved something better and far less predictable than that.

Go back to the Poli board. If Nazi scalping is the thing you enjoyed most of Inglourious Basterds, then you missed the point of the film entirely. The Basterds are more comic relief than anything. If you can't accept that, then you'll hate the film.

I thought Basterds was QT's best flick since Jackie Brown.
