With this year being a rebuilding and struggling year, this question pops into my mind. I will always love LSU no matter what, but it sure would be cool to one day get one in basketball. First things first and I really hope next year we get back into contending for the SEC and making the tournament.

Possible, sure. Will it ever happen, who knows.

doubtful. really don't care though as long as baseball and football keep winning.

Did you ever think the Saints would go to the Super Bowl?

Given enough time, everything cycles. It may be 100 years from now though

I'll say no. It would take a freak year for us to win the whole thing. 2006 was probably our best shot. At a school where bball will always play 3rd fiddle, a national championship is not very likely. It would be like Iowa State winning the MNC.

No, I never thought I would get to see the Saints in the Super Bowl. But you got to know those odds are greater then Lsu winning one in basketball due to the amount of teams.

The 1935 title counts about as much as Ole Miss's 2003 SEC West Title and Auburns 2004 NC

LSU Mens Hoops Fanbase, is the greatest longterm detractor.

Without a hardcore loyal fanbase to fill an arena, and create the program atmosphere, to draw recruits to..

Hiring a NC caliber HC, assembling enough 4* & 5* Parade talent(and make no mistake about..this is what it takes to cut down NCAA nets)..

You are at best a contender, that will only rarely flirt with the Conn, Syr, Nova, Gtown, UNC, Duke, Ky, Fla, Lville, MSU, Oh St, Ind, Pur, Ill, Kan, Tx, Az, UCLA, etc..every few senior-laden teams.

Even Cinderellas that the media have spun as David vs Goliath, have all-world recruits..Danny Manning, Ed Pinkney, Thurl Bailey, etc..the key horses that powered the wagon.

Well basketball it seems you can have alot of roller-coaster years, which has been the norm for us for awhile. But its so freakin hard making it to the Final 4 in the first place, I think you need to have a really strong program that is in the hunt every year to actually win one. But, who knows?? If the good Lord is willing I got a few more decades!!!
