After recent transactions and a solid road trip what is next for the Hornets ?

This year we've all concluded that this is basically the roster for the rest of the year.

But with 20 million in expiring contracts after next year who do yall see the organization targeting if anyone at all ? Andre Igoudola ? Kevin Martin ? Others ?

What about the core of the team. Or you pleases with DWest at the 4, Okafor at the 5, MT and Cp3 in the backcourt if the Hornets were able to get a player like the Guys mentioned above ?

What about HC ? Any rumblings out there ? The Asst. From Boston ?

Just your thoughts on the progression of the Franchise ? Me personally I like the way their headed especially if their able to move Peja MoPetes Contracts for a Quality 3 and a backup big man

If we can get a quality 3 that can create his own shot and is a score first player without giving up DW next year, then I'm fine with having DW start at the 4.

what would happen if the Hornets and Mavs traded CP3 for Dirk, straight up? would Ghazi's head explode?

I know, I know. But I would pay money to see Ghazi rationalize how CP3 is now the best PG in the West (since he plays for the Mavs) and Dirk is washed up and never was really that great (since he's in N.O.) That would be epic.

It really depends on the draft. The people that pay attention to it seem to think that even if we make the playoffs we'll have a shot at drafting a decent 4/5 prospect. If we land a starting caliber 4/5 that probably means West or Okafor are packaged with an expiring for I guess a 2 or 3. I'd like to see how Thornton looks after a dedicated offseason before trading for a 2 though. People knock him for his height, but Stockton and Hornacek did just fine as a shorter, unathletic back court.

Okafor at his price is the worst contract in the organization. He has gotten no better since his rookie year. He averages 11 and 10 playing with Chris Paul and is owed 60 million over the next 5 seasons. While he is an adequate center, he is horrible for this franchise. If the Hornets move someone from their core, it has got to be him.

As far as being pleased with West at the 4, it depends. While there are at least 10 power forwards that I would prefer, he's very valuable at his salary. I'm not against trading him, but doing so better yield a top 5 center or SF or you risk destroying this team. Unless its a lopsided deal in the Hornets' favor, keeping West at the 4 is definitely the smart play.

Thorton at the 2... Just like West, there are a lot of players that I would prefer, but he is an incredible value. The difference between him and West is that he can either be a solid starting player or an incredible bench player. He is only a rookie, but he already can impact the game like Gordon or Ginobli.

Whether I am content with Okafor, West, and Thorton depends so much on the last piece. If its a dynamic young player like Rudy Gay, then I am satisfied with those guys. But that person would have to be a legitimate 2nd star.

For this season, I like the way the team is playing and believe they will finish very strong.

not to mention he is one of the worst screen and roll centers in the League and routinely sits the majority of the 4th quarter

If Dirk is half the player CP3 is how come the Mavs are 3rd in the West and the Hornets are 8th, despite equally mediocre supporting casts?

Would love to hear the spin on this one...

Why did the Hornets finish second in the West and the Mavs finished 7th?
