No problem with identifying the suspects there and that one of them actually gave property back after being chased down. Pretty sad when a frat boy can chase a division 1 wide receiver down!

Sounds like the University of Oregon and their athletic department are covering for those two star players.
Let's see if the police cover it up or "really investigate the crime". I sure hope the boosters don't pay the accuser off to have him dismiss the charges.

ESPN can't really do anything on it yet because the police have already come in and said that the player are not suspects or persons of interest.

NO! WRONG!!!!!!!!!
The police said that they won't comment about "suspects or persons of interest" until the investigation is finished and or if/when charges are pursued by a District Attorney.
quote:
Eugene police spokeswoman Melinda Kletzok said on Monday that the department has "no reason to release names of victims or persons of interest or suspects at this time."
This is standard police procedure...
Quit trying to cover this up as an Oregon fan...this is huge and could devastate the Oregon program if their to be Senior QB is convicted of a felony.

Oregon kicker Rob Beard is expected to be released from the hospital in the next few days after he suffered injuries in a campus brawl Saturday night that required facial surgery.

Wow. What a disaster. Didn't realize that Masoli was the Great Northwest's version of Perrilloux or Janzen Jackson.
With Masoli in jail, the Ducks drop out of the top 10 and back into the hinterlands between Joey Harrington and [almost] Dennis Dixon. I went back and looked at Oregon over the past decade and it's hot and cold and usually when they are "hot" things change to cold pretty quick when they play a legit team in a bowl.

Beard handled kickoffs and long field goals for the Ducks this past season. With the graduation of Morgan Flint, he was expected to compete for the starting job in 2010.

Make sure to have your facts right Sonny G
This doesn't mean he's innocent but it's a start. Even though I hope he didn't do it, but if he did he doesn't deserve to come back to the team. He has priors too. he spent a few months in Juvi for a theft in high school that his friend brought a knife to.

Eugene television station KMTR reported tonight that Masoli and Embry are NOT suspects in the incident described below, according to police. Their names do appear in the police report, however, adding to a web we can only hope will be untangled over the next few days.

He doesn't have any priors, juvenile charges don't qualify as that. He has been in trouble in the past as a youth is how I would state it. If he did do it he won't be on the team but it won't be the devastation that some think it would be. They wouldn't have a title run but it wouldn't be devastating. They have a qb who has been in the system for two years.
also, I am surprised even the locals state that kmtr is a Eugene television station......it isn't, it is a springfield station. My dad worked there for 12 years.
