The tragedy of the “Meltdown in Mississippi” is that there was no meltdown. The world visualized lack of preparation and inability to adapt, tempered with incompetence.
The country learned (what everyone in the SEC already knew) that LSU coach Les Miles is way over his head. In all human endeavor, you get what you tolerate. We have tolerated the insanity that is Les Miles for too many years. Our program is in free fall.
MIM raised its familiar head against Penn State. With 29 seconds remaining, the ball was whistled ready for play. The ball was snapped with nine seconds left. Les Miles did not know that the clock runs following an offensive penalty. We have a duty to demand the termination of Les Miles. He has coached our very talented players into underachievers.
He has embarrassed LSU and our state. MIM was not poor clock management. It was ignorance at the rate of $4 million per year. And we are paying the bill. We demand better.
Offensively, there has never been a game plan, a scheme. Random would be a compliment to the play-calling. Defensively, “bend, don’t break” keeps the score low, but it does not get you off the field. Penn State ran 75 plays. LSU ran 49. The failures are systemic, and they start at the top.
The secret of MIM is twofold. First, it is not a secret. The national media aptly dubbed the Penn State game as “The Dummy vs. the Mummy.” Second, it did not start at Ole Miss. It started the day Les Miles was hired. We get what we tolerate. Les Miles must be terminated.
It is time for the humiliation to end. The athletic director asked for his job. He should do his job.

Miles' comment on the Dummy vs Mummy.
"We had a want to call it a different game."

I love how people focus on the end of the Ole Miss game and not on the other 57 or so minutes of regulation. We couldn't move the ball AT ALL and they moved the ball AT WILL. We got our arse kicked AGAIN by Ole Miss, but people want to focus on a fluke come back that could-have-been? How about getting players OPEN and covering the other teams players? How about that?

That's very eloquent bullshite. He should be a lawyer.

Rantards?
The whole nation feels this way about Miles, not just a select few that post on a message board. I love the guy, hope he is here for a decade but just don't see it happening.
If anything, LSU fans have been reluctant to turn on Miles, particularly after last season with 5 losses. This year was just the removal of the curtain. There are STILL LSU fans who think all is great and will be fine.

Not to worry, LSU has just recruited a new statue quarterback named, yes, lee.

Is this one of those things like "depends on what the meaning of is, is"?

He talks about the bowl game mismanagement as well, which was not three months ago.

comparing those two games is a failure right off the bat.

No some LSU fans (probably should not be calle fans) are just jumping on anything negative about Miles and perpetuating all of this negativity. It is simple next year - he wins and stays or loses and leaves. Why keep criticizing? Just bringing down LSU.

Why? Clock was mismanaged down the stretch in both.

Absolutely not. Final minute was totally mismanaged as well.
Calling for Miles to be fire right now is pretty ludicrous anyway. Doesn't deserve it yet and its not going to happen. Next year will be Miles year to sink or swim. I hope Miles has a bulb turn on and things click, and makes it happen. Just have little faith it will. But, in no way will Miles be fired, should be fired at this time.

Another reason why our fans get labeled as the biggest dumbasses in the world.
And FWIW, the fella who wrote the letter is about as bright as a bag of dicks....despite the fact that he is a lawyer.

JJ calls for the snap, not les miles. JJ stood waiting to snap the ball for a full ten seconds vs penn state, the line was set, he just waited.... whats les going to do? go out there and snap it for him. all he could do was yell on the sideline.
