who would be your priority in recruiting of players not already commited to LSU for the class of 2010.

Mine:
1.) Markeith Ambles
2.) Trevon Reed
3.) Justin Parker
4.) Ego Ferguson
5.) James Wright
6.) Martavious Lee
7.) Kadron Boone
8.) Jarrett Fobbs
9.) Lache Seastrunk
10.) Damien Robinson
11.) Dietrich Riley
12.) Garrison Smith
13.) Justin Hunter

I'm no expert, and I'm interested to see what others here would say.

It's hard to gauge without knowing what players specific interests are.

But casting that aside, looking at the class we have now:

1) Ambles - I think he's the most elite player left at a position of need.
2) Kadron Boone - I actually like him more than Hunter and if we finished with him and Ambles I think it'd be an upgrade over the Davis/Hunter combo we had.
3) Kelcy Quarles - Dynamic playmaker at DT and he expressed interest. If we could lock him up in lieu of Marsh or with Marsh, would be a hell of a duo.
4) James Wright/Trovon Reed/Jarrett Fobbs - I have a hard time ranking any of these 3 ahead of one another. Wright probably for his size. But I'd put heavy priority on the in-state guys.

-I didn't include Lache because I feel like we have a great stable of RBs already.
-I didn't include Garrison Smith because of this...
-Hunter is a goner and I'm not/never have been that high on him.
-The rest are all serious longshots.

I can not agree with this MORE!!! the only exception being -- an OOS kid with LSU/LA ties -- I'd include them as a top priority too.

These guys are ranked by who is most likely to go to LSU,who i thought were the best players, and of course need at the position. (That's why Boone is lower than lee) i removed Ambles b/c I wouldn't recruit him. i took off all players I didn't think had much of a chance of going to LSU.

That's what I was thinking.

I still like Lache, but I don't think he makes or breaks this class.

I thought we had a legit shot at Ferguson and Parker.

Do we have a real shot at him, and would we miss him with the 2011 recruits?

Thanks for the imput guys.

He isn't a longshot by any stretch. i think it's between LSU, Miami, and FSU

Parker:
I think he will most likely stay in state. Clemson is my guess.

With the way we recruited RB, definitely not.

We may at Ferguson, but it looks grim. Seems like he'll end up at Cal.

As for Parker, he recently ranked us 3rd behind Clemson and South Carolina... maybe we can work some magic on his visit though.

I wrote this before seeing his update today in which he stated he's not visiting any other schools. So no, we have no shot.

Interesting wonder why he wanted to go west coast. however, one thing about cal is he would get early playing time since brian price left for the draft.

Lutcher homer that I am, I'd have to fit Gavin Webster in there somewhere. Maybe convert him to TE or WR or something.

But I guess LSU passing on Rolando Melancon turned out to be the right move.

So I guess we'll have to wait till next year for Jarvis Landry.
