I think Brown and Texas needs to let him know exactly when it is Brown is going to step down.

brown probably doesn't know. as long as he's enjoying his job (and making $5mil/yr) and the university is ok with him staying, he will stay. this "head coach in waiting" is a strange animal. i don't know what his "buyout" is, but he's making a $mil a year as a D coord. and can pick and choose what head coaching job he takes if any while waiting for brown to pull the trigger.ironically, the better the job muschamp does, the longer brown will coach. hell, his quality of life in Austin at one mil/yr may be better than a HC gig.

Well, if Brown doesn't know, then Muschamp just can't keep passing on these opportunities.

But, you make a good point, as long as Muschamp stays and is in control of the defense and they are winning and having fun, Brown may coach longer than expected. It's a conundrum, I guess.

Muschamp is in a good situation in life. He can make nice cash while being an assistant knowing he's got options.
