If I understand, this is the overall current assessment (keeping the spin positive) of LSU Basketball in a nutshell...

*Brady left LSU with no players

*Key recruits de-commited after Brady and Butch left

*Trent sacrificed schollies for current recruiting class which is ranked and is not big on going the JC route

*Trent needs at least 2 more years to get us up to SEC caliber

*Trent is a great coach based on last years' accomplishment so it's just a matter of time...patience is essential.

*Trent is building a "long-term" solution by getting players that won't leave early for the NBA.

*This team has zero talent to work with so we can't blame Trent on player coaching/development.

*Write off this season and look for improvement next year with an infusion of talented players.

Not sure about this...Has Carolina won any championship in any sport in the SEC? Not flaming, I honestly can't think of any. (Did you win a NC in Baseball? I can't remember.)

I do remember UL-L beating SC in a Super Regional to make it to the CWS.

We'll be a SIGNIFICANTLY improved team next year I think.

I still think the team we have, if they played a consistent complete game that we'd have definite chance to go .500 in SEC play.

We played really well in the first half of the SC game. We had good ball movement, smart passes to beat the press, dishing it underneath for the easy baskets, and some movement off the ball.

I don't know what happened in the second half. Combination of having a brain fart in passing, picking up the dribble and no one moving to help get an open pass (it seemed like), Downey catching fire, or if our lack of depth led to us being tired.

I think with better bench depth including new immediately able to contribute, better PG play (hopefully), and an extra big man (White) we'll be better.

brady, how can anyone blame anything on brady, maybe if this was tjs first year, tj won with bradys talent last year, and he is still playing with bradys players, within exception of bass and ludwig, you cant take a year off of recruting, brady had a top five class the year he was fired they all decommitted. brady put more kids in the nba in six years than dale brown did in 25. for the record tj will tell you if tasmin mitchell wouldnt have gotten hurt he wouldnt be here. he gave brady a sec ring last year cause he knew whose team it was. how soon everyone forgets we were in the final four 3 years ago, not many coaches can say that. you have to recruit top players every year and for us to think recruiting four year players we will be better next year is a joke, true freshman are not very dependable in their first year unless you get a top ten kid of which we dont have one in the top 20. i am not sure trent johnson likes that type of kid, he is used to the stanford types which doesnt do much for getting back to the final four anytime soon. everyone saw the talent alabama put on the floor saturday in grants first year he will recruit the kids who can run and jump. our coach wants nothing to do with collis temple who helped brady tremendously. there are guys like collis on every campus in the country you have to have them, not sure our guy gets it. to send collis away is not very smart we have a ton of talent right here in louisiana and for the most part we got those kids in the past. we have the best freshman in the country at episcapol high school and we havent even contacted him, that kid went to duke, oklahoma state and kentucky's camp this summer, wasnt invited to lsu's camp.
