Don't care what you think so flame away.

Dear Mr. Alleva,

It is true that our facilities and program in general are among the nation's elite. It is also true that LSU was and will be again, an elite program.

It is true again that you would not have written a letter to the fan base and supporters of the program if it were not for pressure you were receiving regarding the direction of the program.

This is the situation. One day you will leave. The fans and supporters will not. They grew up here, are locals and are committed to the University. The rancor and discord that you are hearing will not abate as the head coach and offensive coordinator are not putting the team in a position to win.

It's really very simple.

You may write all the letters of support you wish and it will not change the fact that you will not win championships with an offense that is ranked 108th in the country. Our 'bend but don't break' defense only works when the offense can support it by scoring.

The only letter I want to receive from you regarding football, is not one of excuses, but one that states that mediocrity is not acceptable at any time at any level and that you are taking steps to remedy the situation.

As I stated before, you were hired to manage the department, you may or may not retire here. I have lived here all my life. LSU is my university and you are it's employee.

Do your job, and rectify the problems with the offensive staff before the end of this month or another year will be wasted in 2010. If you do not do this, then you share the blame for next season as well.

These past two years have been on Les Miles' shoulders. Now with your letter, you're carrying the water too.

If LSU does not show drastic improvement in 2010. There will be two jobs that will be begging for new leadership: Head Coach football, and the Athletic Director for allowing it to continue.

You are head of the department.

Please exercise your authority and do it swiftly.

Sincerely,

xxxxx xxxxxxxx

You can copy it and send it as your own
I don't care.

let him get it a hundred times with different names and he'll see what we think, but he knows that or he wouldn't have issued that pathetic diatribe earlier.

Joe's in the crosshairs now

Well, not exactly:

quote:

It is also true that LSU was and will be again, an elite program.

Erroneously placed, unnecessary comma

quote:

It is true again that you would not have written a letter to the fan base and supporters of the program if it were not for pressure you were receiving regarding the direction of the program.

True again? What does that mean?

quote:

The only letter I want to receive from you regarding football, is not one of excuses, but one that states that mediocrity is not acceptable at any time at any level and that you are taking steps to remedy the situation.

Again, unnecessary comma in the first clause.

quote:

As I stated before, you were hired to manage the department, you may or may not retire here.

You did not, in fact, that state that before.

quote:

LSU is my university and you are it's employee.

You are it is employee? Really? I think you meant "its" without the apostrophe.

quote:

If LSU does not show drastic improvement in 2010.

Not a complete sentence; makes no sense as a sentence.

If you are going to send a letter to show off, you should at least try to use proper grammar.

It is your prerogative to send emails to anyone you like but remember while presenting cases that -
"You are entitled to your own opinions not your own facts"
quote:

.....

The rancor and discord that you are hearing will not abate as the head coach and offensive coordinator are not putting the team in a position to win.

This is opinion not facts.

quote:

You may write all the letters of support you wish and it will not change the fact that you will not win championships with an offense that is ranked 108th in the country.

Though an opinion - history/probability supports your cause and can be accepted as a high probability causal event.

quote:

Our 'bend but don't break' defense only works when the offense can support it by scoring.

Logically - you are begging the question here - you are defining something (in this case defense) with your opinion and then proceeding.

quote:

The only letter I want to receive from you regarding football, is not one of excuses, but one that states that mediocrity is not acceptable at any time at any level and that you are taking steps to remedy the situation.

I agree that no one wants mediocrity at any level - don't assume that the other fans who disagree with you in discussions/AD/players/anyone else interested in LSU actually wants this.
quote:

As I stated before, you were hired to manage the department, you may or may not retire here. I have lived here all my life. LSU is my university and you are it's employee.

I agree this is part of the reason we get so hot headed and riled up about things is because for us the side we are on and the team we support is for life.
quote:

Do your job, and rectify the problems with the offensive staff before the end of this month or another year will be wasted in 2010. If you do not do this, then you share the blame for next season as well.

Your opinion - not facts.

quote:

These past two years have been on Les Miles' shoulders. Now with your letter, you're carrying the water too.

Actually all 5 years have been on Les and that is why he is still here.

quote:

If LSU does not show drastic improvement in 2010. There will be two jobs that will be begging for new leadership: Head Coach football, and the Athletic Director for allowing it to continue.

Whether logical/realistic or not I agree wholeheartedly.

WTF - I was pointing out the logical errors between opinions and fact.

I hope you were replying to Todd515151, who was correcting the punctuations and spellings.
