or is it just Miles & Alleva?

Skip rolled his contract over once. Originally, his contract ran through 12/31/2010. This contract called for a $10 million buyout if LSU fired him without cause. When all the talk about him going to Michigan surfaced on SECCG day in 2007, the LSUAD renewed his contract and extended it thorough 12/31/2012. And now, his buyout would be $15 million should LSU fire him without cause.
Still yet, I'd imagine his agent would be VERY involved since he/she would get a cut.

I would imagine that the agent is involved.

I can't see how there could be contract rollover/extension talk right now b/w LSU and Miles.

I ask because Les said that he personally hasn't talked with anyone about the rollover, but I wonder if his agent has.
I've heard that Les was pretty adamant about getting a rollover last season. Of course, he didn't get it.

Did he say that recently? I didn't know he requested it last year either.

One way or another you have to talk about it.
That said - given the sentiments of donors and the fan base, I'd be surprised if he got the extension.

sources...but i can't prove any of this, so it wouldn't bother me if no one believes it.

automatic
Not true.
It's at the discretion of the Chancellor.
So, to say it's automatic is not 100% correct.
Martin earned points last year for not giving the extension and would earn even more points if he declined it again this year.

Not quite. The language ALLOWS the chancellor to roll it over with 8 wins being the minimum criteria, but it's not REQUIRED. Thus why it wasn't done last year, and may not be done this year.

Wow! I did not know this. Good to know now. And kudos to the chancellor for not rolling over after last year. Wonder if he'll roll it over to 12/31/2013 after the 2009 season. ??????

If Less gets an expension this year I want to hire his agent to get a contract for me. What is it they say? Les Miles has an agent that can sell ice to eskimos.

Honestly, if Les was given an extension would it be common knowledge? Could they not keep it quiet so as not to start a firestorm? I heard this point made recently.

The only way i could see them rolling over or extending him through 2013 would be to renegotiate the $15 million buyout (fire without cause clause).

I doubt it since he's a state employee.

If Les actively pushed for it last season after he had all of 7 FBS wins, then he is really retarded.
This year, he could have a beef on technicality, but last season he had no footing to stand on. He had 7 wins against FBS opponents and 1 against FCS. It should've been written in the contract that it requires at LEAST 8 wins against FBS teams.

I hope you are right. I was thinking also maybe they could postpone it for a while. Not make it public knowledge right away. Whoever gives him an extension whether it is Alleva or whoever should be on the hotseat too IMO.
