Read the last part especially. It don't take account the subtraction of the measurement of the Athlete's reach. Greg is still 3 CM's away from the top guys on the vertical which is still very impressive.
1) Cardale Jones QB, 6-4/200, Cleveland Glenville
Result: 131
Notes: It's no surprise to see a Glenville prospect rank in the top five of the testing results. Glenville's kids in the past have always tested well at the Army Combine, and Jones carries on that tradition quite well. With offers already on the table from Bowling Green, Iowa and West Virginia, look for Jones to be one of Glenville's next big things. Harris' coaches have been raving about his athletic ability for a while now. Leonard is an early Florida commitment, and he wowed analysts with his showing on Friday. It's also not a surprise to see King on the list. He already has racked up early offers from some major players, including LSU and North Carolina.
2) Charles Harris, LB, 6-2/200, Memphis Whiteheaven
Result: 130.5
2) A.C. Leonard, ATH, 6-2/220, Jacksonville (Fla.) Ribault
Result: 130.5
4) Nigel King, WR, 6-3/195, Raleigh (N.C.) Wakefield
Result: 130
5) Brandon Chudnoff, DE, 6-2/220, Philadelphia George Washington
129.5
GOLD - VERTICAL*
1) Brian Mihalik
DE, 6-7/225, Avon Lake, Ohio
Result: 132.5
Notes: Mihalik was definitely one of the tallest players in the event, but he proved he wasn't just bigger than everybody else. He showed explosiveness by out leaping everybody in the event, recording the highest result in the combine. He already has an early offer from West Virginia and Boston College with more to come for sure. Tim Simmons put on one of the most impressive displays of the day in testing. Along with a top five result in the vertical, he ran a 4.67 shuttle and a 4.78 40.
2) Max Stevenson, WR, 6-5/205, Klein (Texas) Oak
Result: 131
2) Corey Marshall, DE, 6-1/254, Dinwiddie, Va.
Result: 131
4) Ben Rasmussen, DE, 6-4/230, Hayward, Wis.
Result: 130.5
5) Tim Simmons, TE, 6-6/232, Indianapolis (Ind.) Pike
Result: 130
* The number for the vertical leap is the raw data that does not include the normal subtraction that usually occurs after a player's reach is measured.

If the kid actually could jump that high, I really think Rivals and Scout should create the first 6 star

Ah...that makes sense. So he's 6'6", that should be around 9" atleast with his arms stretched up right? 9 foot would be 108 inches. So his vert would be 20 inches...that's MUCH more believable.

I believe they measure from armpit to fingertip. Not the whole wingspan. If you notice during like the NFL combines they jump one handed duing the SPARQ system.

I'm saying if he stretched one arm all the way up it's probably around 9' if not more. I'm 5'9" and mine is 8'1" fully stretched. So that would put his vertical around 20 inches, which is about right for a guy his size.

Got this off of Draft express for the NBA.
Average reaches for 6 ft 6 inch guys are 8 ft 8 inches.

which converts to what in inches\? subtract from 128 and then you have his vertical
Posted on 1/9/10 at 7:46 am to ApexTiger
6 ft 6 = 78 inches by my math.
8 ft 8 = 104 inches by my math.
8 ft 8 = 104 inches by my math.

If his reach is 8'8" then that is 104 inches which means his vert would be 24 inches.
Posted on 1/9/10 at 7:55 am to JJ27
that would be correct. Which still isn't too bad for said 6 ft 6 300 pound guy. He is going to be a dominate player for whoever he signs with.

dude, you have some long arms. I am 5'10" and my reach is 7'5".

Jez,don't let this dude find the Ring of Power!

Hm. If Robinson is this fast, wonder if anyone will offer him as a D.E. prospect.

5.03 is his official 40 time...still not bad

No way in hell he has a 50 inch vert at 6'6" 300.

Its possible
No, it's not possible.

Looks much more realistic. Few people run a legit 4.5
Posted on 1/9/10 at 9:28 am to RogerTheShrubber
5.0 forty is excellent for a kid his size.
What were his actua height/weight measurements?
I figured he was 6-5 280 range.
Sounds like a must have.
