Exactly. But, your asking for something that is beyond our coach's ability and that is "coaching".

Not saying Shep shouldnt have played more...but theres no way he starts.

Uuuuhhhh. No. He would have been sitting behind KW and CS because Les doesn't play his best players.

Like who? Who has started a game that shouldn't have. Serious question.

There have been many players that have "developed" just fine under Miles. Im pretty sure he has sent quite a few to the NFL.

Like who? And do you think these players in the NFL wouldn't have been where they are without Miles and staff's tutelage?

Have you not been paying attention the last 3-4 years?

Hester, for one, wouldnt have gone pro....but i get it now...you're part of the "If its good its because of talent, if its bad its because if Miles" crowd.

So do you believe that Miles and staff are developing young players to maximize their potential?

I'll answer this with a question. Have LaFell, CJ, Peterson, Dickson, Coleman, Sheppard, Hester, Bowe, Ciron developed under Miles and staff?

The real question with Shep is to identify what he can offer and develop those skills. I am thoroughly convinced that he may never be the starting QB at LSU

If players are developing, then why is our offense so inept and why are we 8-8 in the SEC? Why do ranked teams beat us and we struggle to beat inferior teams. It's a fact, we have better talent than most teams in the nation, so shouldn't that translate to the field if they were being properly developed as you say?

Rookie QBs and poor o-line play

You can't be serious. Please don't tell me you think that LSU has average or worse talent in comparison to the other 116 or so NCAA teams.

Just to make sure you are correctly following the conversation, the comment was that if Richardson had come here would he have played, and I said, no he would have sat and not played behind KW and CS.

So to your point, who started that that shoudn't have. Well nobody. But that wasn't what I said. I said that if he had come to LSU he wouldn't have played alot like what happened to Shep.
I believe this to be true, but maybe it isn't, maybe he would have played all season long like Richardson did at Bama.

All I know is our 5 star didn't see the field. And Bama's split time with a Heisman winner who was dominating the first half.
Now maybe Shep isn't in the class of Richardson, but they were playing for the national title and easily could have let Ingram take all the snaps and we were plodding along in a lesser bowl not being able to move the ball at all.

Dude seriously I am wondering why I ever even get on this board.

You do realize that pretty much all the older O-line guys we had here at LSU are now gone?

No. That's what he was doing.

Except that our recruiting hasn't suffered.

And you can't compare RB with QB.

And you can't compare Shep with an every down RB who was rated the #2 RB coming out of high school.

started a thread on this last night. The interesting thing was Richardson got as many carries as the Heisman trophy winner as a Freshman. So does anybody think Richardson would have even seen the field at LSU if CS had won the heisman? Heck even if CS hadn't won the trophy would he have carried the ball as much as a freshman here at LSU?

this goes back to miles and his seniority bullshite...I play whoever is better...miles...frick no...you dont owe anyone anything...put the work in and prove it on the field...i like chuck but just b/c your senior doesnt mean he should start and get all the reps...same as all the other positions...T-Bob, Longergan, all the other lineman...

You do realize that part of coaching is to replenish the oline, which should be an easy thing to do for a university that recruits itself?

Who is frickING COMPARING THEM?????????????????

We are just asking why the frick didn't he play one DAMN SNAP in a game when you couldn't move the ball at all!!!!!!

The only comparison being done is to wonder if Richardson would have gotten to play as much here are as he did at BAMA if he had come here. Would he have gotten the Shep treatment.
We are not comparing them as equals.

BTW, I give up. I am going to a movie.

This is like beating your head against the wall because these guys are so in love with Miles that they can't think outside the box. If Miles did it then it must be right because Miles is the best and nothing will change their minds. They are blinded to his faults and will make excuses for him until he's gone, which hopefully will be after next season.

One the flip side....Look at the number of LSU players in the NFL playoffs. Think numbers of players from Bama > LSU??? I don't think so!

All I care about is who has the better team and what direction both teams have taken in the last 2 years and it ain't LSU, which is what sickens me the most.

First, you need to calm the frick down. This thread is replete with Richardson's treatment at Bama compared with Shep's treatment at LSU. So follow the thread or STFU.

Reasonable minds can differ on that issue. I can't read anyone's mind. I'm not going to speculate right now.

And you can't compare the RB cadre at LSU to Bama. If LSU had only what Bama had at RB, then yes, I think TR would have played just as much at LSU as he did at Bama.
