Chose Situation A or B

A. LSU experiences decent success for the next few years (i.e. 9-3/8-4 type of seasons with occasional bowl wins but no SECCG appearances) with Miles as the head coach for the forseeable
future.
B. A complete failure next season. I'm talking losing record, no bowl game, national embarrassment, etc. (i.e. 5-7 record), but LSU fires Les Miles and starts over.

I'll just say that I don't think any coach can hang around here for too long w/o at least winning the SEC west occasionally.
Eventually, not winning an SEC title will catch up with you too.

Never want to see Situation B
Nothing overly terrible about a 9 win season. We should have played a little differently in some of the games but the W - L record was acceptable.
If Saban was not playing for the crystal and winning the last 2 years at AL, would we be a little more patient?

Yes, but that's the point. Without Saban having that success, we probably win the West this year. LSU being inferior to Alabama has everything to do with the Miles disapproval.

I chose B FWIW. I love LSU and want the best for the program long term. I don't think we are going anywhere with Les, and what irks me more is the amount of talent that we are squandering with mediocre seasons.
I don't think I'm a bad fan because I want what's best for the program long term.

If those are the only 2 scenarios, then I would take Option B.

Nope...........A second NC in five years (Les won that in the 2007 season, remember?) has sent the perennially sky-high expectations of Tiger fans and negatigers into an out-of-touch-with-reality stratosphere............It wouldn't matter if Nick were dead and buried and pushing up daisies in West Virginia.............This is 2010, and the stakes in the FBS and the SEC have never been higher...............and they will continue to climb with each passing season and coaching change.
It's a business, it's a reality show at its dramatic best, and it's interesting to watch if you're not one of the casualties...............Trash Les all you want, but I'm hoping he survives this and finds his second wind.
Anyway..........GEAUX TIGERS!

All true fans will chose A

C. we win the west next year but loose the SECCG. and win it all in 2011!
or A.
or A.

I chose C. That next year is better with experienced QB, new OL and better DL. with a second year DC. Hope for 10-2, but that would not satisfy 75% of the ranters.

B is better for LSU in the long run.

I'll vote on this statement.............I would be satisfied with a 10-2 regular season in 2010.

What does "start over mean" If it really means LSU "starts over" it sounds like the scenario before Saban was here. If that's the case I would chose A

Next year will clearly define what we have in Les Miles. It's really a make or break type year for him IMO. Not NC or bust....but we have to make a play for the SEC at worst. Otherwise, the LSU ship will have too much water to stay afloat.

since you said "the next few years", i think your choices are flawed. i really don't think LSU will allow miles that long if he's only winning 8 or 9 games with minor bowls, esp if he loses to bama, fl and ole miss most years. also, the way the games are won and lost matter. i really think that miles will be reviewed this year and be directed to improve or else. i hope they do not re-up his contract. it happens to everyone; produce or we'll find someone who will, esp at his salary.

He's setting the premise GrandDad.
Obviously, there are other possibilities.

This year was a very much coulda been year. Had we had a decent OC, we might have beaten Florida and Alabama along with Ole Miss and we would be playing in Pasadena. Finishing with the 112th offense in the nation is not acceptable and should be calls for immediate firing of at least the OC. Since it seems that isn't going to happen, I expect next year at this time LSU will have a new head coach.

if i had to chose between the 2, i'd pick B
