Are You Worried We're Back To Being A Finesse Team

The physical style has gone out the door since the New England game. The offensive balance is no more and Drew is being asked to put the team on his back.

saints D had 3 sacks and hit the QB 8 times.
They lost because Drew fumbled twice and threw a pick not because they weren't "physical". Whatever the frick that means anyway

I'm not gonna call us a finesse team, but I will say that we are no longer trying to run the ball like we did earlier in the season. I realize we've had our defense banged up, so I'm not too worried about that, but we need to get back to being 50/50 run to pass or we are in trouble.

Can't really run the ball when you're playing from behind!!

I call bullshite on that. We should have never come out the first 3 plays of the game throwing passes. Secondly, down 14-0, you still can start to establish a running game to keep the ball out of the opposing offense's hands. Payton has been abandoning the run too soon.

Down two score in the second quarter, sure keep at the run to open up the play action; Down two scores going into the fourth, you have to put it on drews back. Our play calling wasn't exactly what cost us the game, inability to exicute on both sides of the ball was what hurt us. We were flat coming out which put us in a bad position in the second half. No offense but people need to quit bitching for bitching's sake....we were missing some key players that would/could have made the difference in the game. I hate the loss, but I think we learn from it going into the playoffs

Deverys drop killed it

I hate to say this and it's probably Germans, but nobody was going to beat the Cowboys last night. They were absolutely dominant in every aspect of the game except for kicking. They wanted it and needed it more than we did. Period.
I hope we get another shot at 'em...

There is some myth of the Saints running a lot early in games, it seems.
We approached this game exactly how we approached the previous 13 games, by throwing the ball early with the intent to run the ball in the second half once we got the lead. If you watched the games, you'd know that. Hell, even the stat sheets bear that out. Brees has thrown more passes in the first half than in the second half, and our running backs, particularly Thomas and Bell, have many more carries in the second half than in the first half.
In the modern NFL, you pass to get a lead and you run to hold on to it at the end of the game.
