I am wondering whether tomorrow the Saints would win this argument. I am in Dallas and I wore a Saints t-shirt to work today. You would not believe how many people at the office and at lunch have said they are cheering for the Saints.

I often wear LSU gear and the reaction is not the same.

On any other day, I'd say LSU has more fans. But if you count the bandwagoners, I'll have to say that today and tomorrow (and at least until the Saints go down), it's the Saints.

LSUs stadium can fit 93,000+ fans.
Saints stadium fits around 72,000+ fans.

At half time the Super Dome still has 72K fans but Tiger Stadium only has 70K. By the end of the 3rd quarter TS is down to about 60K while the SD still has 72K

And right now I think the saints could sell out a 92K stadium.

LSU by far.... everywhere you go in Louisiana you see LSU stuff, the same cant be said for the saints. Its like that for any state with a pro team and a big college team though....

if LSU was 13-0, we could sell out a 150k stadium against a decent team. hell, we could have done that earlier in the year against UF when 170k were on campus.

too different things....can't compare.

many fewer allegiances where PRO teams are involved, where the majority of people you work with likely have some COLLEGE affiliation already.

Different fan types indeed. I am not a NFL fan but love LSU.

Saints have a lot more casual national fans right now b'cos its a feel good story. They will forget the Saints if the Saints have an average year.

Most LSU fans nationwide are diehard alums or relatives who will follow the team no matter what.

Even with the Saints fanbase doubling in size over the past 4 months, LSU still has many more.

In the 90s, the Superdome was selling out while TS was half capacity at kickoff.

LSU has more fans inherently but winning will bring out fans while losing will send them into hiding.

Uhhhhh, the Saints prob did a better job at filling the superdome than LSU did filling TS at the time, but I wouldn't call them "sell outs" by any strech of the imagination.
