Pretty sure it's Happy Valley not Beaver Stadium.

The stadium is Beaver Stadium, named afer a former coach.

Huh,I guess I was wrong. What is Happy Valley then?

I drove past it last year and it's gigantic and in the middle of nowehere. You can bet we are louder (at least we used to be)

Once they're done chanting "We are Penn State" its a typical Small-10 stadium in terms of noise

Happy Valley's the nickname (like Death Valley = Tiger Stadium, the Horseshoe = Ohio Stadium, etc). I have no idea why they call it Happy Valley, though.

Anyway, I've never been to either, but everything I've heard is that they're both EXTREMELY difficult to play in.

Yeah... no.

quote:Definitely Tiger Stadium. I've been to both. Penn State plays early day games, which makes for a tamer crowd for sure. The stadium looks kind of like an erector set, with none of the ambience of history overshadowing you that you get at Tiger Stadium. It's a large stadium for sure, but so is Tiger Stadium thanks to the new additions. I guess you could say I caught the Nittany Lions on a bad day, but in my mind it wasn't even close.

Well, yeah, if you went in a day game, it was probably against a team like Temple or a lousy Big 10 team like Indiana.

Tiger Stadium was only rocking for like 1 game this year and that was Florida. We are lucky to get our fans to stay through 4 quarters.
Penn State is nothing like your traditional Big 10 schools.

A lot of Big 10 stadiums are loud. OSU and Penn State are the loudest. Iowa and Wisconsin are a notch below. Michigan can get loud at times, but it's still usually not at the level of the four above, partly because of the nature of the fans, partly because of the shape of the Big House.
