Everything goes in spurts. Human nature is a funny thing. Watch the hunger Bama plays with after a national title. You saw it in 2004 with LSU. You saw it with Florida this year. You're just not quite as sharp. Complacency always finds a way to sink in.

Because the SEC office didn't instruct refs to call games in LSU's favor on a weekly basis.

Two offensive holding calls against Bama in 8 SEC games, with that dominant O-Line? Incredible coincidence!

Fla played gutless and were mauled regardless, but I saw plenty of Florida white jerseys popping upon release in slow-mo and on ESPN's replays..just as I did vs LSU and Aub..just saying.

I am not a real conspiracy kind of dude, but go back and watch Ingram's 68 yard reception in slo mo. There are at least 3 guys for Florida that are obviously held on that play.

Bama was obviously the better team that day, but it is extremely annoying to watch LSU and other team get called for holding on key plays only to turn and watch Alem get held 7-8 times a game and for it never to be called.

When Bama plays..the refs are "watching" the game.

When LSU and many other SEC teams play..the refs are "officiating".

P.S. I saw those same three on the replay.

The hell we don't. Saban has lost at least one game he shouldn't have EVERY year at EVERY major stop until this year, and he still has a game he SHOULD win left to go. I though he had finally shaken this rap last year, and he went and completely blew it against Utah. FWIW, he probably will shake the rap this year. But that doesn't change the fact that we absolutely would have lost one game in each of those seasons. Book it.

Under Cholly Mac and in the Bryant era, LSU's role in the SEC was kind of like the "spoiler" because we could occasionally muster up a few surprising wins and seasons, but never dominant or dynastic. Better than average was LSU's role. We had our moment in the sun, and our time in the Hallman/Archer circles of hell. Now we're reverting under Miles back to form. Spoiler, better than average, but dominant, elite will elude us because our HC is a nice guy and a bit outdated for modern SEC play.

The tackle on whichever side of the field the play went towards very obviously held. The defender's jersey started to stretch so the guy pulled his hands up in the air in an "I'm innocent" type of gesture. Of course it went uncalled and wasn't mentioned by Danielson or Lundquist.

I don't say that. Alabama could of lost 3 or 4 games this year, but got the right breaks. Nobody is gonna dominate this league solely.

IMO, there are too many good coaches and programs in the SEC for ANY team to dominate.

THIS!

I will say that the way you guys support your football team is pretty amazing.

What was it...like 90,000+ showing up for each of your 07 and 08 spring games...impressive!

This isn't the rebirth of the Bear Bryant era. Alabama will be a very powerful team but won't totally dominate like they did during those years under Bryant.

And apparently Mike Shula brought Bama their invite to play in the NC game this year?

Saban deserves the credit. But there won't be domination like under bear Bryant. If and when Saban is able to raid Louisiana of its top talent cheery pick style like Bryant did then I will change my opinion.

Saban deserves the credit for that no doubt. They will always be a great team under Saban. They just won't dominate like they did under Bear Bryant.
