from wikipedia:

Oher has stated that he was unhappy with the film's portrayal of his lack of football skills prior to his high school years. He stated that he always had a high football IQ, even before he played organized football.

He can get over it. He's making bank from the NFL, the book, the movie, etc.

I think he was more unhappy with the portrayal of his actual IQ. In the movie it says he has an IQ lower than 70, which is almost mentally disabled. So he said he was not happy for them making him look like an idiot.

No it doesn't. I just went and saw the movie. It clearly said his IQ was 80.

doubtful, if he were making money off of the book, which was written while he was still in college, he would not have been able to play college football.

He can't get royalties from it now that he's out of college?

Haven't seen the movie but the book was done very well. They mentioned that he wasn't unintelligent at all but that he had never been taught how to learn material. They had to thinkup creative ways to teach him but once they did the book mentioned that he soaked everything up.

As for his football IQ, he definitely didn't have any starting off. As someone mentioned, even at Ole Miss they had to simplify things for him. I remember a section where the coach came to Oher's home and broke down the plays for him using the furnature from their dinning room.

This article says he's only skimmed the book and will not see the movie.

his IQ was tested in this range

and after schooling, tutoring, and culture, he was in the 90s or low 100s i think

he didn't write it, and the book wasn't based on him, he just happened to be an anecdotal part of the larger look at the left-tackle position.

If Oher had been a potential band member or cheerleader, would that family have still adopted him?

Disagree; the evolution of the position was definitely discussed in the book, but the book was about Oher. Now he still can't get royalties off it but the book was absolutely about his journey.

wrong, you obviously know nothing about the writing of the book, the author or any of the author's previous works. The book is a macro look at the evolution of the left tackle position. Incidentally, the author's high school friend adopted a kid who seemingly was born to play that position.

and a book that tried to be a statistical analysis of football (like moneyball, which lewis also wrote) written a few years later was actually titled "blind-sided," as a pun to mock lewis' assertion that the LT was so valuable
