Hell no. Bama fans are approaching Texass fan status. Thats awful. Should Bama bet UF don't know who I would pull for. Both truly obnoxious fanbases.

Yes BAMA fans are the worst...have to live amongst the idiots everyday...and the reason that you seem to think LSU fans are as they are, is because they have this forum..a popular one at that...to voice whatever comment they want on it...some of it comes from the mouths of idiots, and some comments are made just to stir things up.;...if you evaluate some or most of the comments from LSU fans, you can judge for yourself if they know what they are talking about...so don't bent out of shape over a comment made by some drunken freshmen who is bored, can't go out and get laid, and the only thing he can do is come to this forum and spew STUPID shite COMMENTS..

Unfortunately I've seen it enough in the stadium (either booing, leaving early, etc.) to think that its more pervasive than just this board.

Yes. LSU fans are worse, because Alabama fans would not be putting up with this GARBAGE.

You're right - they've put up with a lot worse.

As a guy who hates both schools equally, I'd say its a toss-up right now. UA fans are really bad now, but when they lose a couple games their numbers decline. LSU is always a steady level of piss-you-off no matter what their record though.

I am still PROUD to be a TIGER FAN! But despise what our fan base is turning into. I live in Alabama with these ARROGANT, CLASSLESS FANS! Some of them actually had the NERVE to tell ME that LSU almost blew the Arkansas game.....But of course they HAD THE GAME AGAINST AUBURN ALL ALONG!

I love my State and LSU. But you have to admit that we are a unique group of people. When we are good, we are very very good. When we are bad, we are horrid.

We suffer from non well differentiated personality. That is, we do not have good emotional boundaries. We take our identities from our teams and politicians. When they win, we feel really good about ourselves. We dont just cheer them, we cheer ourselves. It is our victory vicariously. When they lose, we feel like losers and want to slash our wrists or dump the whole team. We have too little or too narrow emotional distance to respond healthfully to either winning or losing. It is not our values. It is our function, or dysfunction.

Why the overreaction some people say. It is just a game, is it not. No. It is not just a game. It is our fragile emotional lives on the line and constantly on the brink. Psychologist must have a field day reading the rant. When Saban was winning here, he was our savior, literally. People felt their sins removed and destined for heaven. When Saban left and the second coming ended up in Alabama, our sins returned and we felt destined to hell.

With all our dysfunctional ranting, however, we remain the best fan base in the nation. Still top athletes across the nation want to come here and play. It is because we are so crazy in love with our team. That is not a bad thing, even if we do need a little therapy.

LSU has the best everything, but the vocal minority of negatigers are but half a chromosome away from being Bama fans.
We have too many arrogant, angry, hedonistic little shits who live vicariously through LSU sports, almost as if they were on drugs... extreme highs and lows.
There is no school better on God's green earth than LSU, but I keep hoping we will raise the bar for our level of class, but I guess too many LSU fans don't have the breeding to pull it off.

i don't think we have reached the level of the dreaded "Bama fan" yet, but we are working our way there. We had a 7-5 rebuilding year last year (which isn't that bad and after a NC if anyone forgot)and have gone 9-3 this year. If we win our bowl then 10-3 with 4 of our last 5 years having ten wins. You really can't ask for more than that....

To teach the fans how to be good fans we need Miles to take some lessons on speaking and selling himself to the fans... tiger fans will buy anything if they are part of it..this coach hasnt made us part of IT yet

It's their moment! Let them have it. It's up to them how they handle it.

Much like LSU fans, most will handle with class. Another small vocal minority of jackasses will make the rest look bad.

That said, LSU fans need to be realistic and realize our time will come again. It's their turn to shine.

Outsider looking in......

As far as game-day fans go, I have NEVER had any problems with any LSU fans. They have always been drunk, loud, raising hell, and extremely polite after the initial 'we're gonna get you' jab. But, LSU fans understand that this is a year-to-year sport and remember where the LSU football program was a decade or two ago. It's all about fun.

Alabama fans are, for the most part, polite and genuinely friendly...but some seem to have this sense of entitlement. For example: "We deserved to get our arse kicked, 'cause with the talent advantage we have over Arkansas, we should have smoked your arse...our coaches/playcalling etc., etc,...or, we played down to our competition etc., etc."

Hey man, Bear Bryant was my uncle...and I can assure you he is no longer with us. He hasn't been the coach for 27 years. Find another reason to be somebody. Saban is good, yes, but we all remember the days of Perkins, Shula, etc.

I would say it's more like a guy being with a girl that everybody can't stand and has made fun of her. They stopped hanging out with him and even started to make fun of him too - as long as he is with her. They all tried to warn him about things that are slowly but surely coming true, and he fights it everyday but just can't seem to muster up the denial inside anymore. He is officially balanced between his friends and his love (or so he thinks) of this girl that nobody likes.

You pretty much nailed it with that. Nice work.

I agree with you completely about LSU fans not being supportive enough.

During the Arkansas game in the student section, there were people screaming "throw the ball you arse*&%^!" even though Jordan Jefferson was making first downs on his scrambles. It seemed like one of his best games so far but these guys were going at him so hard.

When Lafell scored a touchdown i heard one of those same guys say "wow i can't believe the idiot caught it."

My belief is that we are feeding the quarterback problem by expecting them to be incredible during their first season. Wouldn't it be better to let JJ grow into his position and mature into a great QB? After all, we won two championships with QBs who have not turned out to be NFL starters.

class being the key word. Bama at one time had some of the best fans and most civil fans in the world, and I'm talking in Tuscaloosa or at away games. Since they have been winning and bought into Sabanism, THEY, going with the most rabid of gump fans (students and your basic hillbilly gumps) have reached a new level of worst fans ever.
Let's don't include the fans that have been there through the lean years. They are still great fans and fun to be around. Wait a minute I'm sounding like the old tiger fans

As a Hogs fan... I am not sure about your fan base as a whole.... but I believe that all our fan bases have jerks in them... and with the internet and message boards and 24 hour sports newtworks... we see them more.....

It may be that we have always had them... and did not know it....

or it may be that we all have more....

I can remember the glory days of the Arkansas vs Texas rivalry.... we dont have that in the SEC for Arkansas yet....

But as for your fan base.... I have met many of you on here and on our board and most are respectful and classy.... some are not unfortunately we all have some of them.
