Yes you're right he is totally not qualified because Houston throws the ball more than they run it.

In actuality Houston Throws the ball 63% of the time and runs the ball 37% of the time. But yeah their offense really sucks because they have only had the #1 offense in America 2 years in a row averaging over 600 yards a game.

1.) who said they suck on offense?
2.) if you couldn't tell the 8-% was sarcasm just quit at life.
3.) they have the #1 offense and average over 600 ypg BECAUSE of the pass. has nothing to do with the run.

how in the hell can you say it does not have anything to do with the run?! If you can not run the ball you will not be able to pass, you may not be balanced, but there has to be a good threat.

The reason that so many people are turned off by pass first OC's and systems is because these old school fans believe that a pass first to set up the run offense can't succeed in the Holy Almighty SEC. Steve Spurrier proved that theory wrong in his 12 years of dominating the SEC at Florida. He proved that if you had great skill guys and a good QB that you could be incredibly nasty on offense with his system. Well he was right.

I would love to see a coach like Dana Holgerson come to a school like LSU where you have at your disposal the best set of speed and athletic ability anywhere to put in his offense. The players he would have at a school like LSU would be MUCH better than what he has to work with at Houston.

Of course people will say well he will coach against great defenses. Very true but he will also be coaching against great defense's with great athletes himself and he would still have the advantage. I know Houston's offense inside and out and it's just nasty if everyone buys in and commits to it. LSU has all the tools in place to have one of the best offenses in America year in and year out with our players. The only thing that’s been missing over the years is a dynamic coach to go with the dynamic athletes we have.

Is it alarming that we're trying to hire a RB coach now? Meaning if we do get rid of Crowton, couldn't the next OC be responsible for hiring a RB coach that he would like to work with? I'm all for getting rid of Crowton, it just seems like the next OC would have the reponsibility of bringing someone else in.

Of course, I can't recall the timing last year, but did we hire Cooper & Haley before Chavis was finally named?

perhaps Leslie is a real control freak, thus, the ineffectiveness...if he doesn't allow his DC and OC to hire people they can work with, this may explain some of the confusion and the reason they don't gel...

Oh yeah sure does, I mean after all he has the best QB and skill set to coach in the SEC in Columbia,SC. If Steve Spurrier had good QB play like he did at Florida & Duke then that situation at USC would be much different. I don't care how good of a coach you are if your QB's suck then it's going to be hard to win and be dominant. You know dang well if he had the horses at USC like he did in Gainsville you would be singing a much different tune.

SC is hardly representative of what it would be at a top team.

"his offense is a dinosaur"

No it's not

"the offenses we see today are much more complex"

For some reason I feel as if you wouldn't know what's complex and what isn't. You think what Georgia Tech and Florida do is complex? It's not. It's 1950's football but being run out of the shotgun with some of the best athletes you can find to run their systems. It's not about being complex it's about putting horses into the best position to be successful. Spurrier has hardly any horses. Those are facts.

"garcia = 5 star
smelly = 4 star"

Stars by their names doesn't equate to great or solid QB play at the college level. Stars is NOT what I'm talking about.

"spurrier sucked as coachin em up"

Oh yeah one of the best QB coaches and offensive minds in the last 25 years has all of a sudden forgotten how to coach.
