What the deal is with the fans?? Why were so many leaving early? I don't get it. I graduated from LSU in '99 and was in the student section when we beat #1 ranked Florida. I swear, that is the loudest sporting event I have ever been to. Oddly, the fan base seemed to be more supportive back then, than it is now. And the thing is...We're better now than back then!

What gives??

It's about the money. The rich SOB's that can afford season tickets are just not as passionate as the fans who would love to go, but just cannot afford to.

"family atmosphere" = more children at games = more old people at games = more people leaving early = less fun for the rest of us

...this is a tired old redundant thread...please everyone...stop with all the "why are the fans leaving" early threads. There really is no "why" ...fans will do what they will do for any reason under the sun and moon...it doesn't matter...really folks, it doesn't matter..

Seems to me that a decent amount of fans plan to leave midway through the 3rd quarter no matter what the score is.

They like the atmosphere of the game, like to tailgate and like to tell their friends that they went to the game. But honestly, they could care less about the quality of play on the field.

I was there last night until the last play sitting on the west side 45 yard line row 41. At half the east side lost about 35% of the fans and I was amazed.

Not sure if it is fair or not but LSU plays a boring style of football and some people are not sold on Miles as a HC. Not saying it is right but I think that is why so many people leave.

OK, I'm no "Fat Cat" but I am a 20 year TAF member and I got to go down on the field prior to the game. I absolutely hate to be in the stadium at the end of a game that LSU loses. I just freaking hate to see another team celebrate. I also hate to be there and watch LSU play like s**t or see stupid calls from the coaching staff. So as the end of a game approaches that LSU could lose, I'm gone. LSU has won 4 overtime games when I left and lost the 2 games I stayed for. Let's say I'm taking one for the team.
In the last 39 years I've missed one home game and that was due to bypass surgery 4 days before the game. Its my call to leave whenever I want and I'm just don't see why that should be a problem for anyone else. I have no idea why others leave but a dozen people around me left by midway in the 3rd quarter and that happens often regardless of the score or how LSU is playing. I could care less if people leave. Maybe its traffic. The last few years they have really sucked getting cars off campus. I also REALLY hate sitting in traffic such that an hour and 15 minute ride home becomes 2 hours or longer.
I like the 6:00 kickoff. LSU can go with that all the time if it were up to me.
