from watching and listening to Coach Miles this season is he does not have any fire about him. His first seasons leading through the 07 NC he seem to be hungry now thats gone. What is it? I've heard on the radio folks calling in wondering if he has a health problem....then 2nite seams calm....eating ice cream during the show...WTF......Is he just sitting back counting his money? Everybody can say the signs were there....and I see their point but clearly its also the lack of fire. (infact from what Ive seen the whole staff lacks fire this year). Should I fear that the powers that be at LSU would let our program slip back to average at best?

I have noticed his lack of fire this year! I don't know what it tis, but I hate that. It reminds me of Aaron Brooks. He would throw an int then laugh as he walked off the field. I really do like Miles. But I don't understand the lack of intensity that he has shown lately and it is a problem for me!

I may be wrong but I attribute that to money.
He has too much.

You often see pro players do the same, once they get too much money the love for the game is gone.

I dont see that love anymore.

I like Coach Miles a lot, but I am very disappointed with him this year.

I too would like to see that fire rekindled.
And light one in the players too.
Someone needs to get the team excited again.

This is suppose to be fun for them.

I've given him the benefit of the doubt often, but I agree. He seems distracted and also tries to hard to be poised and upbeat - which is a great trait, but everyone so often people need to see the tiger out of the cage, ripping heads off.

What happened to the "let it rip"? This guy seems like he has nothing to contribute sometimes.

New to the board

I agree with all of the assesments above, however I would add I don't think Les is dumb. He knows talent we have vs. performance on the field LSU just hasn't cut it in the last 2 years. I think deep down he knows what the major problems are and it probably weighs on him heavy at times, because in reality he is going to have to make changes to his staff he does not want to make. He is loyal to his hires, give him that. However this is the big leagues and you have to make decisions that are painful to survive. Let's see what happens at the end of the season, if nothing, then I'll rethink the dumb thing.

To me the lack of intensity was never more clear than in the last two minutes of the OM meltdown. If thinking hard for a few minutes is too much effort for you as a coach, then you don't really want to win badly enough.

Guess what? The players and fans want to win really badly.

He admitted there was no plan for that situation and they(he)couldn't come up with one on short notice. That tells me he is heart and mind is not in it for some reason. How hard is it to signal in to JJ to snap the ball before the clock starts and try to make something happen. Instead they did the worst possible thing, nothing. No plan???

That's how he did it last year on the defensive side, and for him, yes, now he must do it after this season on the offensive side, or else, as I have stated before, the team will start to fall just like with Dinardo.
