As I have said on several other threads, I have never been on the Miles bandwagon and to this day, I believe that Skip Bertman was bargain basement shopping and wanted a yes man to him since Saban would tell Bertman to go jump in University Lake. I like many others was mad as Hell Saturday night, Sunday and Monday. I dont believe I will ever be on the bandwagon because every time I get one foot on Miles and/or staff does some crazy thing. However, I will say this , if the Tigers play for him, themselves and us Tiger fans Saturday night and pummels Arkansas like they did Auburn, then I will be convinced that he has not "lost" the team and I will certainly try to keep my mouth shut and support him.
I live in Arkansas, but very close to the Oklahoma border and warned LSU when they hired Les Miles that they were making a huge mistake and even compared him to Gerry Dinardo in how LSU would be within a few years of this hire.
I was told that I was FOS and the like.
Now, I'm feeling a little vindicated.
A freaking moron could take just the instate kids that LSU lands each and every year and field a so-so football team, but a quality HC and competent staff could really battle for SEC championships each and every season.

Ironically Les Miles and Gerry Dinardo are pretty good friends. They both coached together at Colorado, I believe, and I think I read Dinardo may have been a groomsman in Miles' wedding or vice versa.

No and Hell No. For one LSU will not beat R-kansas. Second it might just piss people off more that he actually tried to coach to win a game just get some heat off him.

No! I didn't like him when he won the NC.

During Houston Nutt's last game while coaching Arkansas, he beat #1 ranked LSU at Baton Rouge.
Houston Nutt is now the head coach at Ole Miss.
Keep your eye on the ball Tiger fans. One win does not erase an entire season of mediocrity.

No, can not see anything rewarding about loving an idiot. Just ask my wife.

Like most people I was pissed off last saturday and calling for his head!!
As far as I am concerned the guy stepped up to the plate and accepted responsibility! He called a spade a spade and admitted that he screwed up!! I say we support him and rally behind him and the team and yell for LSU this week as if our lives depend on it!! :geauxtigers: :geauxtigers:

Nope - he's on the hot seat until he wins at least the West and beats Florida and/or Alabama. That's the least he has to do to be removed from the hot seat.

I hope this is not true.

No not everyone will love him. Bottom line is that He will never fully recover from this. Look everyone knows us tiger fans are quick to love and quick to hate. However, this time it's not just tiger fans complaining, it's gone national. His national image has been severly damaged. That can't and will not be restored in just one game.

No, it was the first sign and test that the defense had started to turn the corner. There were some problems related to last year as well as some questions that this game gave us something to be optimistic about.
----That was before we knew just how down UGA was this year.

After Florida, we hated him.
We pretty much expected a loss here. The defense showed up but it was a bitter sweet game. Once again the offense was no where to be found. Suddenly the frustration of last year was haunting us again............this time it was the entire offense.

After Auburn, we loved him.
The play on the field finally met our expectations. We were happy, but this was the kind of performance we anticipated from the beginning of the year. I guess you can say we were happy we didnt play like crap again.

We were outplayed by La freakn tech.

Hell no.

LSU's players have lost some fight after this past game. Way too emotional and aftermath. I'm not saying they're going to lay down but at this point the only thing they're fighting for is memories and a shot to play in Jerry Jones' Penthouse in Dallas.
Arkansas by 3. Something tells me they nail a FG going away on something wacky/LSU error.

I hated him after all those games. and what is the world coming to when beating arkansas turns the tide of fan opposition against you? Arkansas is a quality program, but LSU should not have to hang their hat on a win over them. miles is a joke and petrino is going to outcoach the hell out of him saturday night.

I agree... Some of the player's comments prove this...

Im not doubting you, I just havent seen any of those quotes. That would be a troubling sign.

quote:I agree with this- We were fortunate to win a BCS championship under Miles, but the cracks in the dam were there well before the meltdown last week, which lost him to over 90% of the fans. To say he has to come out next year with a 'killer' instinct is a major understatement- he needs to win next year & win big & often.
I don't believe so. A large portion of the fans have never "loved" him. The warmest these were came after the MNC in 2007 and then it was only "like."
I think short of winning the SEC next year, he'll never get most fans back.

Who is we? Maybe you loved him. I have always thought we won because we simply had more talent. To give an obvious answer to your question though -no.
Posted on 11/24/09 at 9:27 pm to Polar Bear
My feelings toward Miles didn't hinge on one game or one play. My feeling has been ensued over a course of five years.
So my answer is no. It would just make Thanksgiving weekend more enjoyable.
