7 things you probably shouldnt do when ranting against LSU.

1.) Say negative things about a D-Coordinator or an LSU Defense that is on the field more than any other defense in the country, yet still in the top 10.
2.) Say that LSU has less talent on the team now because Sabans recruits are gone. Technically, LSU is losing with MORE talent on the team then Saban had. Miles has made mistakes, criticize his coaching all you want, the recruiting is actually improved (barely, but any improvement is impressive).
3.) If you know little, then stick to the little that you know. The trick play that Ole Miss scored on was all about timing. LSU was in zone coverage. PP and the safety made mistakes, but guess what? Thats a risk you take when in zone coverage because your eyes are in the backfield.
4.) It's ok to rant on G. Crowtons play calling and offense. To say, "but why don't we do like Florida!??". This isn't 2008, and in 2009 the only thing that has Florida ranked #1 is its Defense.
5.) You want Gary Crowton gone? That is completely understandable and probably the rational decision for Miles. However, Jefferson purposely takes more sacks than any other qb that's ever been at LSU. He's affraid of following in Lee's footsteps and refuses to throw some passes that he should. The kid's young and if Ryan Perrilloux was still at LSU (despite the reasons he had to leave) this would not be an issue. So basically, dog on Crowton, but if you're gonna do it do it for a legitimate reason and thats because he should have simplified the offense for younger players until he had another RP caliber / experience qb who could run his offense.
6.) Control your emotions. By all means do not declare LSU's program as dead or tier 2. Could it be headed that direction? Yes, but not yet. Their recruiting even for 2010 is top 10 (5 on some sites) at the moment. Also, realize that for the first time in many years, the SEC West is notably stronger than the SEC East. The only reason we can't declare the winner of the west the winner of it all right now is because of one team (who might be a non factor next year).
7.) Don't dramatize shite. Charles Scott got hurt. Now KW too. Well I got news for you. Neither one of them performed up to their expectations this year. If anything, this is a good thing because we don't have the line for a power running game. (Sorry Stevan Ridley). Russell Shephard and Trindon Holiday (maybe even the red shirted speed back or some wide receivers) are the ones who need to be getting snaps because if our run game works its gonna be like MANY other teams including Bama and Ole Miss have been successful on the ground and thats with backs who take broken plays and make something happen (KW and CS have not done this).

We don't have more talent now.
Check the amount of first round picks on this team currently with the past.

Crowton should have been gone last year for aborting the Jarrett Lee situation. He was lucky the defense was so bad, it hid his incompetence.

Crowton-Simplify it down to this.
It has been said numerous times that we have "young qbs" that need to be brought along.
Then why in the world, after gaining 8 yards on first down plays, would you then go 5 wide!?
This happened in Miss. State, Florida, Bama, La. Tech, Ole Miss. This is a pattern of how poor a coach he is.
You have to get two yards on the two point conversion and you throw a fade route! This tells more of his thought process than anything else. He is awful.

I quit reading after this. The defense is on the field longer than any other because they play a bend but don't break style. They seldom force three and outs and the offense is never given any good field position, except after kickoff returns.

I don't know who you are EricB, but I wish you were over on TigerSportsDigest with me. Just happened to venture over here today. I agree with every point. Helps to see that I'm not the only one that sees it that way.

Share with us the examples of RP running the offense

So our lack of a running game is now the RB fault? THE ONLY SERVICEABLE PORTION OF our offense of late has been the power running game, and we have completely abandoned it routinely.

Do you think Scott and Williams "underperforming" could have something to do with the offensive line?

I think you can put on there you can't say RS should have less playing time.

Catastrophe syndrome has run amuck for sure
BTW tho the SEC West has probably been stronger than the SEC East for most of this decade

I disagree with #2.
I agree if you include all the guys that, for whatever reason, left the team the past 3 years, especially OL.

This is very true. This goes all the way back to the Vandy game. Teams have gashed us on the defensive front all year. For the first time in a while we are not strong on the interior lines. Doesn't matter what else goes right/wrong, championship teams win up front. Miles has done a poor job developing the DT recruits. Al Woods would not start for most of the top teams. He was a 5 star. Think about that for a second. Was he overrated? That's why good talent evaluators are more important than coaches that have a subscription to rivals. Think of it this way, Chris Davenport(is redshirting), and Josh Downs (3 star) is already contributing. It's like business, there is no way to tell effort and "want-to."
