This game was handled more poorly than I've ever seen by a coaching staff. Absolutely wrong in every way.
The Katrina year was handled right. No other coaching staff has ever had to deal with those circumstances. They did well.
To me, the Katrina job outweighs the Ole Miss fiasco.
Barely.
But it does.

Not to make light of the situation, but Katrina is over with. And the national championship season is over with.
LSU is 7-8 its last 15 SEC games.
LSU has not won a November SEC game since 2007.

I hope the bullshite knocked some since into the motherfricker.
Let's hope he had an epiphany and instills life back into the depleted moral of TIGER NATION

I can think of 10 instances, that's two a year on average, that something like this could've happened, sometimes it did, sometimes it didn't....the point is he has played with fire before and has said before in a presser he has learned and it will not happen again, yet it does continue to happen....poor game management and no sideline organization....it is just a matter of time before it will cost him his job...probably after next year

I agree about the Katrina thing and I really don't think that Saban would have been able to handle that situation at all. But that is just conjecture!
My point is, something is wrong! I don't know if it is family, emotional, or medical but it is bad with L.M. Then we have his coaching staff members since he has (and was very lucky - God must have blessed him for what he did then) been put in the position to work on his own without the character of the former LSU players. He is going backwards ... remember what they said about the Titantic?
Watch out LSU?
but fwiw ... for the players and future players.

lol...yeah, we have the same hope.
To me, he get's a little extra slack because of the way he handled things in a particularly difficult situation.
His slack is gone now.

I am standing by les. But I take it that our record of 7-8 in sec is all under crowton. I think he needs to go for starters

OK.
I'm familiar with those.
Katrina was an unusual circumstance. He handled an 'unusual circumstance' well.
For me, he gets a little extra time because of that.

quote:As it stands today, that was a LONG time ago- that doesn't give you a free pass at the expense of the future. The perception by others is that we are a fading team, & I don't think Miles is the person that can change that feeing..

Naw, I'm not saying that. Nicely phrased though.
I'm hot about the Saturday game time decisions. Or lack thereof.
I'm looking for a silver lining amidst a ridiculously high buy out option for LSU.
Les did a very good job at Katrina recovery.

Les also inherited a Lamborghini off the assembly line in January 2005..
It hasn't had many oil changes since, the tires are becoming frayed, needs a wheel alignment, wiper blades worn, air filter filthy, owner's manual far too crisp and unread..etc..
Roughly translated: The HC needs to wake up, learn and improve upon his weak areas as a coach, hire new OC, OL, WR coaches, quit using lip service and actually do the promises he delivers about changes constantly, and "the coming to Jesus" that was promised after last season.
Despite a lil' lipstick(aka narrow wins over nearly some of the worst MSU and UGA teams that those two have had in recent decades)..2009 is nearly the same as 2008 despite an slightly improved W-L mark..just that the 2009 O swapped places with 2008 D, in becoming the team's albatross.
